This guy proved to me that Jesus was just made up and I researched the apologist answers, and then the skeptic sources and I guess he's right - but I don't care!

My pastor told me that I had to still believe anyway because my parents are believers also and I cannot break tradition because it will ruin the economy and democracy, He said that facts do not matter when it comes to faith.

so I decided even though Jesus never was really a person, that I would just keep believing - I mean it's a lot easier to keep believing it, instead of listening and debating against all that reason and logic. I mean, i get tired of thinking so much. Which is OK because my Pastor said that the Bible says to bypass the intellect with faith and it's dangerous to think about things too much - one could blaspheme!

Your topic is interesting but your reasoning is flawed. You are correct that logically, for the sake of discussion, even if Jesus is not real, the values and benefits of Christianity still make believing a worthwhile choice. In other words, if you don't believe, and you die as we all will, and you find out that you are still alive in the spirit, you have a rude awakening and realize that you have been wrong all your life. That means that if you didn't live for that occasion, you would be seriously deficient when it comes to judgment. However, if you do believe and live a good life and then die and there is nothing else, you have lost nothing but still leave a good legacy behind here on earth.
Truth is that Jesus did live, and does live as our Savior, Lord and God. He will sit in judgment when we arive at the other side of mortality and we will have to account for our lives. Therefore, it behooves us all to live good lives according to the teachings of Jesus so that if we are right, we are prepared and if we are wrong, we have left a good legacy behind.
So go ahead and believe and live accordingly, it is worth it.

Yes, you can still be a Christian even if you don’t believe Jesus was real. A Christian follows the teaching of Christ (Jesus in your case). Research The Christ Spirit to learn about other Christ. Anyhow, the teachings of Jesus are not unique to him, they’ve been universal truths. Love you neighbor, care for the children and widows, etc… You believe in the teaching even if they came from a made up person the teaching are still true to you, so follow them.

Nice satire.

for the person who wrote this:

"And for your information, the birth, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ are four of the most documented events in history."

Exactly how many witnessed each of these events? Anything after the eyewitness accounts of the handful who may have been there is pure hearsay.

I can find lots of documentation about Star Wars and Luke Skywalker, too. Does tht make it fact?

Dude you need to find a different church, one that is a BIBLE believing church with a pastor that knows what he is talking about. Jesus is the way the truth and the life none shall enter but through HIM. Jesus died a horrible death and hung on a cross for you and for me. To deny HIM is basically signing your death warrent for an eternity in HELL. Normally I am not fire and brimstone, but the BIBLE is clear that you must know JESUS. PLease for your sake for your enternal salvation don't listen to the words of men, they are fools. Read your BIBLE! God will reveal HIMSELF to you. Also, find a bible believe church, it will make a huge difference. Don't let any one fool you it isn't just a believe in the unbelievable thing, believing in GOD is also a intellectual thing.

There at the instant are not any eyewitness debts of Alexander the large. in fact the earliest writings we've of Alex are 4 hundred years after his dying. So, his dealings of Josephus and Tacticus as not being eye-witness' are stupid. So, whether Tacticus became repeating what he became informed by ability of Christains, of which there's no info, it nevertheless is interior a technology or 2 of eye witness debts, back greater desirable than different historic texts. The Gospels, whether he needs to dispute the authors, have been written interior a hundred years of Jesus' dying. 3-He neglects to indicate the writings of the Roman, Pliny the greater youthful and his references to Jesus (advert a hundred and ten or so) 4-a number of his arguements make no experience. including Paul not asserting the Gospels in his writtings. Why could he? They knew the Gospel, he became writting stick to up training to what he preached. He asserts Paul had an eplileptic seizure, devoid of info. Paul truthfully known coherent in his writings. 5-As for the shortcoming of historic checklist with reference to the 2nd of darkeness at Jesus' dying, he's incorrect. Thallius/Julius Africanus point out it of their background of the mediteranian, as being around the time of Jesus' crucifixion. i might desire to bypass on, yet you get the factor. enable me know in case you prefer to talk.

First of all, you can't prove a negative. And for your information, the birth, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ are four of the most documented events in history.

Do you also deny the holocaust? People that deny the existence of Christ usually deny the holocaust as well. Have a nice day and take time to smell the truth.

first of all Jesus does exist, and second of all, your pastor should have told you that He does not that you need to continue to believe because your parents do. I will say this, if Jesus does not exist, what have you lost, if He does, what has those who say He doesn't lose, I think you know that answer.
