Yes
(to the first question in bold).
The proper and personal name of Almighty God is יהוה. Those four Hebrew characters are generally transliterated as "YHWH" (that is, each Hebrew character is directly replaced by a different character with the same sound in another language's character set). Many or most Hebrew scholars suggest that the Hebrew pronunciation was similar to "Yahweh" or "Yehowah".
It is true that the Almighty did not say, "Listen, thousands of years from now when a new language called English comes along, they can pronounce my name as 'Jehovah' and that's fine." Instead, like with any and every personal name, different languages TRANSLATE personal names to fit their lingual tendencies. George becomes "Hor-hey" in Spanish or "Gay-org" in German and no one gets upset.
The name "Jehovah" was not fabricated "from whole cloth" (as it were). As speakers of English find it easier to say "Jesus" than "Yeheshua", so "Jehovah" seems to have originated as an honest attempt to pronounce "Yehowah".

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate "Christmas" because it is actually a disguised pagan holiday originally named "Saturnalia".

Jehovah's Witnesses certainly do not plan to "sneak up" on householders, but they do work to follow Jesus' command that Christians should evangelize.

...(Matthew 10:7,11,14) As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ ...Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving... Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet.
Jehovah's Witnesses certainly DO believe in heaven, and in fact believe everything that is in the bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe in the scriptures, Christ Jesus and preaching about God's kingdom. They believe and teach what Jesus taught rather then the Roman Empire/Church adopted after Christ died. Because Jehovah's Witnesses will not adopted the same pagan beliefs that originated from Egypt as the major churches have done they are labeled by them as a 'cult' to scare people in believing they will go to a fiery hell. The name Jehovah appears in several Bibles at Psalm 83:18. Most Bibles have replaced the name with "LORD" in all capital letters. Originally, the name appeared 7,000 times in the Bible.
Other Bible character names contain the name "Jehovah" in them. For example:
Jehoram
Jehoida
Jehoiakim
Jehoash
Jehoshaphat
Half the stuff you said about Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong. They do believe in heaven, they do not brainwash people, no one has to bow down to anyone, etc.
If you have questions, you should ask them. They know the Bible very well.

God's name in Hebrew is YHWH. Jesus in Hebrew is Joshua or YSH...ancient Hebrew had no vowels.
The Roman Catholics put the vowels in. The spelling is Iehova in Latin. It is used along with the English Jehovah in the Indiana Jones movie The Last Crusade with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery of James Bond fame.
Yes, we believe in heaven...that is for the king/priests who rule. Most humans will live forever as flesh on earth....
Jesus and the heavenly class never come back to earth. They rule as spirits in heaven.
No, there is nothing weird about our meetings and you do not bow to others. Most religions teachings are pagan (you have to have a Bible, religion, history study and possibly do library research to find this out for yourself).
She is rushing you to get to meetings though. Better to discuss religion with a JW you feel comfortable with on your own if you like.

The answers to your questions are very long and complex - too much to answer in a forum like this. The bottom line is that JW's are a cult. They don't believe in hell because that would mean they would have to be accountable.
