Yes, I have, but I also try to get to know the person. I have had several people whom I have become friends with even though our religious beliefs may totally differ. A few we just agreed to disagree, but they were always the ones there for me when I needed to cry on a shoulder, or just friendship support. Than there are some who are just .........weird. Get to know the person first before you cast judgement. I learned that early on.

Yes. I might think someone would make a good friend, seems intelligent and interesting, pleasant, etc. But if they then say they are from one of the proselytizing religions, and take it seriously (referring to themselves as "evangelistic Christian, for example), I would doubt very much whether such a person could become a good friend.
Even then, I have known a few exceptions. Right, Quiet Warrior?

I find the opposite to be true. I may have an opinion about someone and ASSUME that I know their religious beliefs only to later be shocked by what they truly believe. Usually it is someone that I assume is not a Christian and later find out that they claim to be one.

Yes, but changed them right back in one case. I'd talked with her many times and she finally said "when are you going to ask me out?". On the date, she told me her father was a Church of Christ pastor and I began to get nervous, since they can be so fundamentalist. She laughed and said "Oh, I see that look on your face, don't worry, we're a moderate denomination, he knows you're atheist and what I've told him about you, he really wants to meet you but not convert you."
All of us are still close friends.

I don't mind what religion the person follows. Just as long as he/she does not try to force her/his beliefs on me, and just as long as he/she does not preach all the time. I have no problem otherwise.

i don't go by first impressions. people are nervous, people are shy, people try too hard...
i keep an open mind and listen...i prefer to judge a person by their character, not by where they are or are not, on sunday morning...

I don't ask about religious beliefs. It is of no concern to me.
People are people.
