From my own experience with alzheimer's you do not die from it probably you die from other problems. My neighbour's husband had the ailment but he died from pneumonia. The mind shuts down steadily and opens the physique and the immune procedure to different diseases a few of which can also be fatal.

Alzheimer's itself is not a fatal disease. Other opportunistic disorders caused by the disease causes death. ie: Alzheimer's patients forget how and when to swallow. They aspirate the food/fluid causing aspiration pneumonia. This is one common way Alzheimer's patients die

I am sorry, after reading the lower comments I suppose I was wrong after all. I was not aware of that... My grampa has it.
I take that back!! After reading more comments and doing research I was right after all!!!!!!!!!
It is secondary causes that elderly people die from, not alzheimers.

It is not the Alzheimer's disease itself that kills people but the complications. People will eventually forget how to eat and drink. They will become prone to infections and wounds. But it is secondary complications that cause death.

Ooh yes. It is a deadly disease. The time between the start of the disease and the end is unpredictable but in general the younger the disease starts the faster it goes.
