It is a new invention of who ever thought of it.
Quran and Bible and Torah have similarities because it is same God that revealed all three Divine Revelations. How can same God tell different stories to His different Prophets?
The stories vary between three Revelations is because first two books have been changed by men but God guaranteed Himself to see that Quran being the last Revelation, never changes. It has not been changed even by one word in Quran. Every word in Quran is true word of God as He dictated to Mohammad to be included in Quran.
There are some sayings of God which he spoke to prophet written separately for which God told to Prophet not to include in Quran. These are called ''HADITH-E-QUDSEE".
Meaning '' Statements of the Holiest One"

Yeah, it's another absurd myth from Jack Chick. It's not true. It doesn't even remotely make sense. Why would the Catholics want to create another religion, especially one which would repeatedly inspire people to invade Catholic Europe?

as salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.
Insha'Allah, I am having a bit of trouble imagining a pope, dressed as an angel, crawling into a cave near Mecca and telling the Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wasallaam) to "read"!
Without a doubt, this is the strangest conspiracy theory I have ever heard.
Tell me, was the Christian movement a set up by the Jews, as well?
Thanks for the laugh!
ma'a salaam.

No... and it wasn't. Catholicism didn't exactly have much of a hold over nomadic Bedouins or polytheistic Arabs in the 5th and 6th century.

It was not, it was started by Muhammad and an apostatized monk from the east who wrote the Koran for him. That's why there is so many similarities between the christian faith and Islam.
