From my personal experience I have received more thumbs down than thumbs up from other Yahoo Answers participants. I think the reason for this is two fold.
Number one many people on Yahoo Answers are too juvenile and therefore have short attention spans. They utterly detest comments more than three lines long, regardless of how well argued your contentions are.
Secondly, many people give a negative appraisal of my comments, because they disagree with them, or find them highly offensive. Since most of my arguments pertain to religion and politics, two things that people are generally spirited about, only the most open minded of participants can give a thumbs up to answer, because it is well articulated, especially when that argument runs counter to their own philosophy.

I don't put much stock in the whole thumbs up/down thing, I'd say maybe about 70/30 in favor of thumbs up. It depends a lot on the time of day and the question asked.
I have no religion.

I would say 60% thumbs up, and 40% thumbs down. My religion would be nondenominational worship. Oops I guess it is 50/50.

Still pretty new, but it's thumbs down. I think atheists give me thumbs down because I'm Christian, but a lot of fundies give me thumbs down because I refuse to tow the literalist line and consign everybody to hell. And sometimes I deserve the thumbs down because I put my foot in my mouth, metaphorically speaking.

More thumbs down. I'm Jewish. And Christians don't seem to be able to take the truth of the faith they say they evolved from.
That's ok, the christians reject the Torah. Why should I feel anything if they reject me?

I'm a Christian and I have been on a while, and I get more thumbs down. A lot of Christians don't bother giving thumbs up.

Sometimes I'm up and sometimes I'm down. Depends on who's asking the question and who's reading the questions.
Overall....probably 50/50
The majority of my thumbs down are from Protestant Christians.
I even got blocked yesterday by one.
lol
Oh, I'm Roman Catholic. Our beliefs are not popular among other Christians. Go figure....we were the first Church and have been around 2000 years so at some point they will have to learn to tolerate us!
