don't waste space with Bush bashing and muslim bashing. You can go two ways. either say what it would have been like from thousands of years back..to now.
or just from starting say tomorrow.

Well people appear to be fundamentally divided on most beliefs, but at least with an atheistic world there would be a greater chance of consensus through logic and rational thought.
Many of a religious ilk seem unable to consider alternatives or the possibility that they could be wrong, and scientific and sociological progress has had to struggle to emerge through these un-changing minds. To a certain extent we are lucky that we have even moved beyond the geocentric system of astronomy, as for years the Catholic church tried to suppress it as a valid fact/theory. I who said it, but there is a quote which runs "Intelligence is the ability to hold two contradiciting ideas at once without losing the ability to function. " Personally I interpret this as meaning that being able to admit to and explore the possibility of you being wrong is a mark of intellect, but to each their own.
If from tomorrow onwards the whole world was atheist at least the people partaking in religious genocide all over the planet would have to stop and actually try to justify their actions beyond "God said this, they don't agree, so I should kill them all". Perhaps we might even learn to accept others opinions as being just as valid as our own. Tbh if nothing else it would promote tolerance and understanding.
Yes, there would still be wars, but the blind justification of religion so frequently used would at least be gone, and so they might just be a little less bloody, a little less horrific. Murdering someone because they are on the opposite team, fighting for their homeland and family, is a lot more difficult then killing those to whom your every belief is diametrically opposed. You are able to empathise instead of being blinded by your own fervour.
I admire faith, and all the good it can do, but I would like to see a few more of the basic tenets of atheism implicated. Namely thinking for yourself, tolerance, and rationalism. These are necessary by-products of intelligent or questioning atheism, and I find it hard to fault them.

I am sure we would have colonized Mars by now. Most genetic diseases would be a thing of the past. Climate change would never have happened. War would be localized and more like skirmishes between neighbors. Famine would be eliminated as the population would have been controlled and not allowed to go out of control due to anti contraceptive measures.

The arts would have flourished without the strangulation of uptight, painful and self serving asceticism.

Oh, I could go on and on....

A world full of atheist would be like the world in the hit movie "Robots". It would be awesome everyone would have metal bodies and would have to buy new parts just to stay alive.
