NO..They are not interchangable and there isn't a conversion kit that will allow them to fit.....The Ruger Mini-14 is rather particular as to what magazines work well in them. Avoid After-Market magazines made by companies other than Ruger. They rarely work well, and by the time you realize it, most companies will not let you return them for a refund. Stick with "Genuine" Ruger magazines and spend a few dollars more now, and be assured of quality as well as function, each and every time!

Ahh, RRA is excellent (I would have a look at S&W M&P 15, and Remington is about to unviel the new ACR, so wait a while, the Ruger SR556 is exprensive but it has all the things I'd want like a piston, chrome plated parts, good sights, and it's accurate). Good move getting rid of the mini, I like Minis more than ARs but Rugers casting and QC (my P345 pistol is really F up) just plain doesn't hold up to forged parts. Minis also have about as much customization as an AR (stocks, 30rnd mags, sights, suppressors, barrels). I hate the Judge, get rid of it, but if you don't have any pistols (an absolute necessity) then buy an XDM9 before you buy an AR15.

The AR 15 magazine is too fat to fit in as well as the catch and hole are not the same as the mini 14.
It would be nice if the ruger was designed to take the AR 15 mag as it just goes straight up in the well rather than roll in from front to rear.

No, they don't fit. You'd have to do major mods to the mag to even come close, and I wouldn't trust it. Just order some Ruger mags. Buy them from RGUNS or there are several other places listed in "shotgun news" and you can pick up a copy at barnes and noble or most book stores. Get em now before the dems take over in 2008, cuz the weapons ban is one of the first things Hillary will sign back into law and mag prices will hit over $100.00 again right after that.

On the subject of aftermarket Mini-14 magazines, much to my surprise I have better luck with the polymer-resin (ok, plastic) mags such as Eagle than any non-Ruger steel mag, which are often plagued by burrs, bent lips, and "just don't bloody fit".
And yes, hillary 2008 will be the end of the world as we know it.

No, Ruger magazines are the "rocker type", AR-15 mags are the "slot" type.
Despite the fact they hold the same type of ammo, they mount and lock into place with completely different mechanics. The feed lips have different shapes also.
