There is cubed stew meat in the meat section. Try adding whole mushrooms and whole tomatoes...yum

In the beef section of your local supermarket, there's already cut into cubes stew meat.

I get that meat, add a packet of slow cooker beef stew seasoning (in the spice aisle usually) and a bag of frozen stew veggies.

I make it in the crock pot on low for 8 hours. Your house will smell divine as it cooks.

Basic, inexpensive roast is just fine. Cut in about 3/4" cubes and just brown the outsides in a frying pan first.
A package of beefy onion soup will provide the salt, some onion, and bouillon for the broth.
Cook the stew on low heat for a while so it gets tender.
Mash up one or two of the pieces of potato and stir around to thicken the broth.

You can use ground beef or stew beef( the package is marked "stew beef"). Any vegetable is good in beef stew: celery, corn, onion, green beans. peas, tomato, navy beans, or any other garden vegetable. You can buy these vegetables fresh, canned, or frozen. Canned is the easiest to use but I prefer frozen or fresh. And if you want a tomato based stew you can add a large can of V8 juice. Be sure to boil the meat first until its tender and then add the vegetables and juice if you want it. Also be sure to use plenty of seasoning( salt, pepper, or garlic)

Look in the frozen veggie department for the veggies. They have a stew mix that has a good blend. The pre-cut meat is in the meat dept. as "stew meat"....who knew...There is also a flavoring packet in the seasonings section. (can you tell I have done this before?).....Enjoy
