Why Does My Cat Swat At Me When I Pant?

Question

Recently I have started having asthma problems and when start panting, my cat has a strange reaction
First she starts running back and forth around me, and then she starts swatting at my face,
a few times she has even lunged at me with both front paws (it looks like a hug, a paw on each side of the face).
She does not have claws so I'm not worried about the behaviour but I'm curious about why she does this.

She does it with other people too, a friend of mine whom she does not know well made himself pant to see if she would do it and she had the same reaction.

She is a very affectionate cat, and we do have a strong bond, but as I said she has this reaction for other people as well.

Does anyone know what is going on?

she knows something is wrong with you and she is telling you to fix it. rare in cats. You see it more in dogs.

Be happy that she loves you, and when you are in distress take care of yourself because it freaks her out.

I would guess she is afraid of your reaction and does not know how to respond, so she becomes aggressive (thank Heaven for no claws).

I have a second theory of cats, which my girlfriend and her evil cat deny. I think cats are spawns of demons and here on earth to torment us. So, your cat may just be trying to collect your soul for his demon overlord.

As I said... my girlfriend really does not like the second theory. So, let's go with the first one of an anxious (but not necessarily demonically possessed) cat.
