So, there is this guy at my school who moved in the middle of the school year last year from Iraq and barley knows english. Anyways, Ive NEVER EVER noticed him at school until this year...and hes sooooo fine. Oh gosh I blush everytime I think about him...We dont have any classes together, only lunch. All my friends drool over him too and we all watch him eat and laugh with his buddies a few tables away, so he IS a cutie. But my problem is my friend is friends CLOSE frinds with him, and she gave me his cell number a while ago. I had texed him yesterday for the first time, and the embarassing part was that he askd who i was. I told him and we started talking. SO after I asked him about his myspace, he gave it to me and then I texed later "Add me okay?" and he wirtes back "I have to go now" I think I was getting on his nerves, but i dont know. He could have just said "Ill see you later i got to go" or something like that right? Am I just obssed or something??

Im in jr. High by the way. And I have no idea how I can talk to him with all my friends fighting over him and hes ALWAYS playing football on the other side of the parking lot with other boys. I only yell "hey__!" when he walks inside after his class gets called, but he says hey back<3

Keep in mind that if he's not from the U.S., he is not going to behave the same way. Different cultures view things differently. In Japan, the children take care of their parents and grandparents until they die; in the U.S., we tend to stick them in nursing homes and make them someone else's problem. So he has a different culture, and you need to realize that.

Secondly, if he said "I have to go" that's a lot shorter than texting, "Well, my mom is here, so I need to go, but I'll talk to you tomorrow during lunch and maybe we can..." See what I mean? I wouldn't be insulted by it at all.

There are some good signs here for you. Just continue being friendly. Help him adjust to life in the U.S. and remember that he didn't grow up the same way you did, so there are bound to be differences between you that may come off as insulting, but it's not intentional. Good luck!

You will have a better chance at him if he knows you and you are around instead of some chick that text him all the time. Something to talk to him about is his language. Go up to him sometime and ask him to teach you a few words everyday because you really want to know the language. Then ask how he likes it here (where ever you live).

Nooo
Nothing happened.
If suddenly I had to go, and we were in the middle of a text convo, I WOULD say "I have to go now."
It just means something on the verge of "We'll continue talking later, but my mom just called me to take out the garbage/do the dishes/etc."
Always happens to me! Argh! And I think the guys think EXACTLY the same thing about me! Lol...
Anyways, it's okay, everything's fine, act neutral, and when you're talking to him again, be like, "Did you add me?" Or something like that.
Lots of luck!

He might have really had to go...but just to make sure you aren't coming across as desperate, let him make the first move next time.

You don't want to get involved with this guy. If it turns out that he's involved with something sinister (that's my Iraq stereotype), your name will be traced back to him. You don't want to end up in a secret CIA prison, do you?
