This forum IS NOT a christian forum. Nor is it exclusive to any religion. It is the SOCIETY AND CULTURE section with sub sections. Religion unfortunately affects everyone, and many have questions. Some people on here are incredibly rude, some truly want answers.
I am here to try to understand why there has almost always been a high percentage of society that feels the need to cling to religion. And now despite apparent fallacies.

some liberals are atheists, some are Jews, some are Christians, some are Buddhists, and so on. the uncomplicated denominator for liberalism seems to be taking a serious, skeptical recommendations-set to all issues. they do no longer take issues at face fee, and don't reflexively or immediately have self belief each thing they examine or hear, inclusive of non secular texts. it truly is that entire thinking for your self element. This in fact what separates Reform Judaism from Orthodox Judaism. Orthodox Jews have self belief the Torah is the written notice of God, organic and straightforward, the way some fundamentalist Christians have self belief the King James Bible (even if it truly is in English, and replaced into hence for sure translated a minimum of as quickly as) is the literal notice of God. Reform Jews belive the Torah is divinely inspired, yet that the Torah is composed of allusions and metaphors that would desire to be theory approximately, interpreted, made proper to the guy. only slightly a tangent, yet i'm attempting as an occasion a ingredient. no longer all liberals are atheists, yet their recommendations-set to faith could be slightly diverse from conservatives, who've a tendency to be slightly greater dogmatic, rigid and literal. Are all atheists liberals? i'm particular no longer one hundred%, yet i won't be able to think of of any atheists i comprehend who're politically conservative, oh, apart from some Air stress Academy graduates. What is going on at that place? Who talked approximately as Jesus a Liberal? Oh my goodness, no, Jesus hated liberals - that rabbi replaced right into a radical, greater of a Che Guevara or an Abbie Hoffman than a bill Clinton. Liberals are too business enterprise - the "enable's exchange it from the interior" recommendations-set. Jesus replaced into greater of a "burn, toddler, burn" kinda guy. He did no longer choose for to alter the winning social order - he had to tear it down and start up over with some thing greater beneficial, commencing with all Romans outta Palestine.

Are we still *drinking* to this question?
Atheism is a point of view regarding religion. Therefore, R&S would be the place to discuss it.
Yes, there are liberal christians. Quite a few of them on this site, actually, that are very intelligent and spiritual.

Atheists do not feel the need to get together as a group just because a different group called christians is labeling them "atheists". Atheists are visiting this site just as believers of other religions. Those people chriticize christions, too, not just atheists.

only beause it is the religion/spirituality section doesnt make atheists not be allowed to visit it and post their opinions and views on things.
i personally am agnostic,
and i am just really interested in religion, and what other people believe, and their views on things. it is people that are close-minded and extremist that i cannot stand.
atheists are some of the most open minded people you will ever meet, and have just as a big heart like yours and many christians.

So you're saying Christians don't believe that Atheists can be spiritual? And Christians believe Liberalism is a theology? No wonder I became an Agnostic and resigned from the Republican party.
BTW: Jesus was pretty Liberal, you know. You might try reading his stories some day.

Is there such a thing as a liberal Christian? Of course. I am one. To me, there's nothing wrong with considering a progressive approach to one's beliefs and opinions.

Liberals != Christian. How does this thought even make sense. How does believing in equality and more government programs for the poor make you not a christian. How does your belief in government policies have ANTYHING to do with religion!?!?!?!?
