Tattoos are ok if are tastefull and not overly large I have one.

If you get one make sure youi are 100% sure of the one you want to get and don't get someone's name unless it is your mom. Once it is on it stays with you for life unless you want to spend a whole lot of money to have it removed by laser.

I personally love tattoos. They're a wonderful way to express yourself, as long as you've thought long and hard about what you want to get. As long as it means something to you and it's something you can live with the rest of your life, go for it! Don't rush into it if you don't already have a design in mind that you absolutely love. Think about it for at least a few months, and if you still love the idea, then get it done. Tattoos are wonderful, but definitely not something to rush into.Don't just walk into a shop and pick a flash design that you like at the moment.Basically, just think before you get inked and make sure you can live with your choice forever!

Maybe it's my age but I always associated tattoos with grizzly old Navy vets - "Mom" on their bicep, etc.
But to a certain generation they are getting very popular. Seems like every time I see a woman in her 20's or 30's in a bikini she has a tat on her lower back/ upper butt...."tramp stamp" I think it's sometimes called.
I think the laser tattoo removal business is going to skyrocket in a few years. People are going to realize the tats weren't a good idea when they interview for a "real job".

"tattoos" is such a general category. i love my tattoos, i love the tattoos of most of my friends but not all tattoos are for me. a LOT of people i see have HORRIBLE tattoos so if i had to chose to have those tattoos or no tattoos i would chose none.
but thankfully i have found a network of wonderful artists who are wonderfully creative and artistic and i can't see myself ever having a "bad" tattoo.

should you get one? that is really a question that only you can answer but the fact that you are asking if you should get one shows me that you aren't ready. maybe you never will be. some people just aren't "tattoo people". my sister is one of those that is on the fence about the whole thing. she thinks she wants one and then a month later is glad she doesn't have one. she's the only one in the family that DOESN'T have one.

I have a big problem and have shied away plenty of times. I think the main reason is that they look okay when you're young, but after a few years they go blue-black and indistinct. Also if you regret it, there's not much you can about it.
NEVER put the name of your current squeeze on there! My gf had her ex's name tattooed on her foot and they divorced. Now I am reminded of him when she takes her socks off.

I love tattoos. Don't get something that is fashionable now unless it means something to you, cos it wont be fasionable in five years. The only name tattoos I think anyone should get is their parents or children.

No, I don't think you should. You need to be 100% sure before getting a tattoo and if you're asking perfect strangers if they think you should get one, then you obviously aren't 100% sure.

I love them. You should only get one if it's something important to you or has a special meaning. Don't get one of a lover's name, no matter what. You never know what's going to happen in the future. And don't get one just because it looks cool. Wait until you find something meaningful that you absolutely love, or better yet, design one yourself. Best of luck!

get one if u want but don't get one just to have one. they should have meaning or represent something.

diane i think if u've had two kids u can handle the pain of a small tattoo.
