No. Popcorn in itself, is a very healthy snack. The colonials and even the Indians used to eat it for breakfast topped with the only available milk to them...hence, the first breakfast cereal. Once people pile on the things that are not good for you (butter, too much salt, sugar, chocolate, caramel, etc), that is when popcorn becomes unhealthy and can make you gain weight...but, certainly not overnight. It typically takes two weeks for your eating habits to catch up to your body and become noticable.

Popcorn is a healthy snack unless you pour lots and lots of butter and salt on it then you might see your bumm getting bigger.
