Because it holds the keys to the basics of the two other religions that are spin-offs of Judaism. In order to comprehend why people do certain things, the Jewish religion provides many answers. As for the Holocaust, that is a very touchy subject, and in order to comprehend why it happened, (gulp), you would have to also study Hitler and his mindset and his charismatic speeches to the masses of his minions that allowed him to divide and conquer. The answers are many and very detailed, and can not be summed up in one paragraph. It would take dedication on your part to be patient and open-minded and the willingness to toil through pages and pages of history. Good luck.

Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi.Since Jesus is important to most of us, those that love to hate attack. Persecution they have kept getting since probably before the word "persecution" came to be. They have the longest recorded history. Are "God's choosing people" which has possibly kept many jealous of them.
Their religion is the only religion that is made/based on the one and only real God. Not a fake one a few people decided to make up. (Like some claim the sun is a god because it comes back each morning. Not that it has been proved to create all. It can't even talk. Some will carve a fake god out of wood or stone, then tell others to worship it.)

truly, i think of we've a problematic time with this question through fact we've not any physique of reference.there is not any different faith that began through fact the descendants of one kinfolk. there is not any different kinfolk (so a ways as i comprehend) that would hint it truly is roots back 4000 years. there is not any different those that lost their fatherland and have been unfold around the globe, adapting to and adopting the particularly some custom of their international locations, yet yet keeping it truly is unique id . there is no longer different usa that helps conversion. So right this is what we do comprehend: a million) Judaism is a faith. G-d gave the Torah to the Jewish human beings 3320 years in the past and that Torah is the commencing place of all issues Jewish. 2) Judaism isn't an ethnicity. There are Jews of each colour and race. 3) maximum Jews are descended from one kinfolk (That of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) 4) Judaism has continually prevalent converts who somewhat choose for to serve G-d as Jews. 5) Jewish isn't a nationality, yet maximum Jews sense a connection to our historic fatherland. 6) there is quite some examine on the "Jewish DNA" and that i do no longer comprehend plenty approximately it. whilst it truly is been watered down for hundreds of years, there are curiously some very solid connections.

Well, I'm a bit biased because I'm Jewish :)
Judaism was around before either Christianity or Islam, so by studying Judaism, you are investigating the first monotheistic faith. In other words, the first faith to declare that there is one G-d, and only one G-d.
Also, Jesus himself was Jewish.
If you're learning about the Holocaust, try and get hold of a book called THE WAVE. This is a true story, about an experiment that a history teacher did in an American high school. You will find it fascinating, trust me!
I hope you find what you're learning about Judaism interesting. We are a very small minority: less than 0.01 per cent of the world's population is Jewish.
If you have any other questions, please feel welcome to post them :)

One reason you may want to study the Jewish religion is to draw closer to the Creator by making comparisons with what they believe and what you believe. By the way,Jewish customs and religious doctrines have nothing to do a maniac called Hitler and his concentration camps .It is true that the holocaust was a horror but it had nothing to do with religion. It had to do with economics and evil. Many thousands of Jehovah's witnesses ended up in those same camps. Those refusing to salute the nazi flag or do the hiel hitler hand signal were hunted down and thrown in among the the rest of outcasts that Hitler chose not to include in his master race. A race of white people blond blue eyed and brite. He was an idiot. By studying the different faiths we can make a determination as to what God wants from each of us.

In relation to persecution and the Holocaust, I would say because understanding the Jewish religion helps you to understand who they are. The Jewish religion is the basis for Christianity and Islam. Also to understand is that though Jewish people are identified by God in the Old Testament as His chosen people, they have a history of persecution and redemption. The loss of their homeland led to them living scattered all over the earth, always the minority in someone else's land. As a people, they tend to refuse to give in to pressures to adopt local religious customs, which led to some hard feelings. Also, some of their beliefs and practices weren't understood or tolerated by the majority population in some of the countries they've been in. When people can't understand and/or control something, they become afraid of it and in the words of Yoda: "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering." This has gone on for millennia for them and even into this day. They have also been used as scapegoats for people's problems, as in Nazi Germany which led to the Holocaust and Spain which led to the beginning of the Spanish Inquisition. And no one ever expects the Spanish Inqusition!

hey i am learning about the same thing:^^
well it is not really the religion that is important to study but rather the mistakes we made, the holocaust was obviously one of the terrible things about our history and by studying the reasons for the holocaust we can avoid it happening again... part of the reasons the Jews were targeted was because of their religion, so it is Incorporated, or at least that is my opinion.

If you want to be a well rounded intelligent person, its always best to learn about other cultures, customs, histories, and religions. We learn from our mistakes, and in case you have not noticed history is full of them.
As for the hollocaust, a large group of people were exterminated because of their beliefs. Do you really think that is something we should just forget about and ignore?
