As a former caterer, here is what I used as a guide. As an appetizer (depending on what else was being served - 6 to 8 people per pound. Main dish - 4 people per pound.

it depends how hungry the people are, and what other food you have available...
assuming you have average amount of other foods available, I'd say...10 - 15 people...?
