along with walking on the treadmill???

Weights will definitely help. But there are other ways to do it. Yoga will give you a killer body as well as pilates, but those are more time consuming than lifting weights, in my opinion. running will tone your legs and help you lose weight, but won't do much for your arms. Even 5lb dumbbells after a while will help tone you.

You don't need weights to tone up. Calisthenics, and cardio can help you get toned.
