It will be expensive if you get Geico. How do you think they pay for that constant barrage of inane commercials? I have Safeco and Geico doesn't even come close to them in price. Also 'state minimum requirements' for insurance, in the event of an accident, won't come close to protecting you from a big law suit. Anything the insurance doesn't cover is left on you to pay.

It varies on where you are. Since it is against the law not to have a minimum amount of coverage, then you should get it. What amount of coverage you get and where you live and how old you are are the key factors to the cost. Progressive.com advertises that they will take your information and give you a readout on the rates for several companies. I haven't tried it, but you might go there to get an idea.

There are all kinds of dependancies as to how much it will cost. Male or Female. Any wrecks or moving violations in the last 3 - 5 years. Type of car. Type of insurance needed (Liability vs Full Coverage)
Best bet is to go online and hit a bunch of companies and get quotes. Note - you do not need to enter your Social Security Number to get a quote.
