We are hanging a door on a bathroom and my husband wants the door to open out because the room is small, but I think the door to a bathroom should open into the room.

If you are retro-fitting a door in an existing frame you will want the door to swing the way it did originally so you don't have the old hing mortises to deal with. If you are replacing the frame as well, most doors swing into the room. If you have the wall space and are dealing with a small bathroom you might consider a pocket door.

In houses the interior doors all open in to the room. You don't want doors opening in to hall ways. In some mobile homes and campers the bathroom doors open out because of the very limited space.

You know try it, but make a deal with him. If it don't work out, then change it.

Most interior doors open into the room. I think that I would prefer my bathroom door to open inward.

Its your house and bathroom. Let it open however you want. There is no reason it should open inward that I can think of except that you lose the area the door swings for useful space.

Most doors, from a main room, open inwards. A pantry would be an exception.
