YES! I was not only baptized, but I am a preacher's kid, and thought I was "saved" for a large part of my life. I now no longer identify as a Christian at all. In fact, my daughter was baptized, and I am no longer raising either of my children Christian - they have a choice to be so, of course, and know it, but they have access to information on a broad range of spiritual paths.
Having been baptized was not your decision, and even if it was, you have the right to change your mind and follow a path that feels 'right' for you. I don't think you have just a right, but also a responsibility to follow the path that makes you feel at home.
Good luck, and May All That Is Bless You!

for the reason that baptism is a Bible based element, i will enable the Bible answer for the reason that what I could say in my very very own opinion does not override the Bible. observe the command given at Matthew 28:19, 20: “bypass as a result and make disciples of people of all the countries, baptizing them interior the call of the father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, coaching them to visual exhibit unit all the failings I fairly have commanded you.” 2 diverse steps are given right here. the 1st is to make a disciple of somebody. A disciple is a few who's taught. the 2nd is to baptize them while they are turning out to be a disciple. a toddler would be unable to learn how to develop right into a disciple for the reason that's impossible to totally carry close all the truths interior the Bible. An toddler can't inform you who God is, what e book of the Bible is first, or who God's son is that are all very elementary truths interior the Bible. subsequently, in accordance to this, toddler baptism isn't desirable.

The person who wrote that "Religion is a disease of the mind, born of fear, which has done nothing but bring untold misery down upon the human race" is exactly right. In fact, your question is the perfect example of this. Because you were baptized and raised in one religion, you have questions about your own freedom to choose. Your religion should not control you. Rather, you should control your religion and beliefs.

Of course you can choose another religion, or you could even choose to have no religion at all. Afterall, you have the absolute freedom to believe what you want to believe. Exercise this freedom and you will erase the misery I sense in your question.

Yes, many many people have done so, including me and I'm an Atheist. I was baptised in the United Church of Canada when I was a baby. I'm now Wiccan even though I don't believe the gods are actual beings.

Yes you can. And babies are not born in sin as the Catholics claim. Babies and children up to the age of 10 are innocent of any sins. Once they pass 10 or when the girls get their period they are held accountable for their actions and thoughts while on Earth. Any child that dies after 4 months in it's mother's womb and before the age of 10 will go to Jinnah on the Day of Resurrection and will not be asked about anything it did on Earth because 10 is the age of accountability in Islam.
