Does she mean one of those mystery-game parties? Like, the who-done-it's?
Wooboy those are FUN! My friend had a mystery party for her fourteenth birthday last year, and I must say it was one of the best birthday parties I'd ever been to.
I know that there are kits for throwing those sorts of parties; I'd take a peek around Google and see what you can turn up. Usually it comes with a plot, clue-cards, etc - all the things you need to set up a great mystery party!
I'm sorry I can't be of much help on where to find such a kit, though, but I can promise you they DO exsist. :)

dont take her out to eat or to the movies if she wants a party that would make no sense I have no clue why people are saying that.
Hm im 16 and Ive never had a party but when i was 13 I always wanted to plan my own party so maybe have a night where you and her sit down and plan the whole thing even the tiny details like napkins colors.
That would be some good bonding time for you 2 to.
Hope the part turns out fun!

Aww... happy birthday to her and she's lucky to have such a good mother like you. :)
I'm sorry if any of my ideas are bad because I've never have a 13 b-day party before.
_13 years old kids want music, "cool" music like MTV. I know it's inappropriate but it's the fact.
_Don't make the b-day cake looks so "sissy", try something that your DAUGHTER likes not YOU.
_No "Princess" word appear any where in the party room. Unless the daughter reallyyyy want it.
_Don't disturb her during the party because she wants to hang out with her friends and have some fun.
_Don't make faces at her friends' clothes even if they're dress code or even worse than that.
_Bonfire would be a good idea... in summer. I'm sorry.
_Be a cool mom, act your age when her friends are around.
Ohhhh, I think my ideas are wild. I really don't want to turn her into a bad kid or something, I just want to help.
Good luck...

For my daughter's 13th birthday, I rented a stretch limo. She got to invite 5 friends (I went along also, of course). The girls got dressed up. We went into the city for a fancy dinner. The limo ride was an hour to get there, and of course, there were sodas, music, etc. all in the limo. They acted like kids in a candy shop enjoying all the stuff in the limo! Then we enjoyed dinner. After dinner, the limo driver drove us around for awhile, and then to a Cold Stone creamery and home for a sleepover. The girls had a blast! They still talk about it to this day. My daughter said it was definitely the best birthday she's had. (There won't be another special event until she's 16.)
Peace.

Well, why don't you make her an "Treasure Hunt" around town.. Drive her to where the clues say. EX: In the Local Library in the book titled 'The Who' on page 32... Have the second clue in a park or something... Towards the end have the 2nd to last clue say her favorite store, and have "GO TO THE CUTE SHIRT ON ISLE FOUR, (its brown) {or whatever}" written on the bottom of the 2ND to last card.. Now, where ever you tell her to go, whether is a cute shirt or cool shoes, have the last clue be a $_ _ . _ _ gift card for that store!

I think you should buy one of those kits from online and throw her that murder mystery party. She would LOVE it. And let her have sleepover for a few friends after that. (Also: after the mystery, classic stuff like cake and presents and maybe even a short game like balloon stomp or bubble gum whipped cream contest) Make sure you let her invite ALL of the friends she wants to invite EVEN if you don't necessarily approve of them. (As long as they aren't going to bring weapons, drug&&alchohol ect.) And try not to embarass her. She IS going to be 13 after all, that is quite a big deal for a teenager. So just be cool, have fun and buy her stuff! :D Happy birthday whoeveryouare!

First you should pick a theme. It helps to get some little things to decorate, such as little magnifying glasses, and other odds and ends of mystery.

^^ Those are really helpful sites to get started. If all else fails, just go to a search engine, and look up something along the lines of 'how to throw a mystery party'

Did you ask her what she wanted?
Rent a hotel room for the night with a pool. Her friends can have a sleepover at the hotel. (Of course you are in the next room)
Paintball party.
Skating party.
When my daughter turned 13 I gave her a $100 bill and let her best friend and her loose in the mall. She loved it.
Have fun!!
