The less flesh between the skin and the bone, the more pain there will be. Thus, the skull, the back of the hand, etc. Also, no matter what, any kind of genital tattooing is going to hurt worse than anything else.

By far, the ribcage is the worst. My piece is about 18 inches long and full color -- I've sat for 11 hours on this one so far, and I still have about 5-6 more hours to go. I have a tattoo on the inside of my wrist and it wasn't bad at all. The pain is kindof like when you have a really bad sunburn and you scape against it. After it's sore for about 3 days or so. Pain tolerance is an important factor too.

Most painful for me was the top of my thigh, though I think the fact that I had torn a ligament in the attached knee a few years earlier contributed. My inside wrist was no sweat, but I'd expect outside to be a little more painful. Really depends on your tolerance.

Some people are more tolerable to pain than others. Like one of my friends got a tattoo on her back and said that it hurt bad, but when I got one on my back it didn't hurt at all.

The pain is a bearable pain and it gets kinda annoying. But, trust me it is worth it if you really want the tattoo! It will hurt atleast a little anywhere you get it.

Good luck Hon!

Lets see it feel like a needle going in and out of your skin 100's of times...you cant really compare it to anything, more tender areas are around the neck, chest, and back of upper arm. But where you want it wont be so bad, its more annoying than painful. it doesnt feel great but you can definitely do it dont worry.

I got one on the back of my neck and it didn't hurt as much as when it was going down than against or sideways. It felt like to me like you keep picking a scape and it keeps going. I would say the most painful place would be on the thigh, ribcage or full back.

I don't have one there, but the most painful thing I have ever experienced was my tattoo on my rib cage. Hurt like a mother, but tattoos are always worth it.

I have one on the other side of my wrist...it wasn't too bad. But it had some spots that made me wince. It's all in your pain tolerance and what you can handle.

I heard it's your rib cage, but I got one there and it didn't hurt that bad. The worst spot was my back shoulder. It was pure bone and no muscle.

Everybody is different.
