did you ever see my post on all the poop they must have had to clean?

wikipedia lists 5400 species of mammals alone....times two because there were two of each animal. thats 10,800 mammals (not including birds, land reptiles, insects etc). if they each take one dookie a day....thats 10,800 dookies....divided by 6 (number of humans) and each humas is cleaing up 1800 piles of poop/day. if you are awake for 16 hours in a day, thats 112.5 piles of poop/hour. and this is not human poop....but large animal poop. i think they just had to grin and bear it...no?

basically, every minute of every waking day, each human had to keep up a rate of cleaning up two piles of poop/minute. those poor exhausted smelly humans must have wished they drowned.

where did noah get a kangaroo? or a penguin? and how did he keep the penguin cool and the knagaroo hot? this was before HVAC.

You know what.. if this DID occur (and scientists/ documentarians in our liftime, have found logic in it, and some have located parts on Mt. Ararat... far, far, from any water... by the way).. I'd have to say that the world, in question, would be THEIR WORLD. Meaning the local animals surviving the flood. As in local farm animals, to survive the time on the boat.. and it got a little exaggerated over time?

There were prophets & prophecies going on all the time -- like it was an NFL week, and everywhere you looked some other pundit was predicting who was gonna beat who and how (right?)... so, maybe Noah took one of em seriously, and BINGO! it did actually rain a ton... (as it does).

Can you imagine what stories the people in the Katrina hurricane or the tsunami.. would tell, if it had happened 3,000 years ago? Or, would you just NOT BELIEVE so much water & death could happen?

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned (I didn't read the other answers), but its pretty simple:

1. The ark was huge
2. Only each species was included (for example - not a basset hound, poodle, bulldog, etc. - but just two dogs)
3. Animals that were adolescents - not full grown - were likely brought aboard

Taking all this into account (and of course, leaving the sea creatures out), it wouldn't be difficult to imagine the animals fitting.

Noah only had to fit a few tiny animals into the ark. Time and evolution did the rest.

The other animals he loaded were for snacking.

The ark was HUGE. Did you check out the measurements?

EDIT: I quote;

***The ark was about 437 feet [133 m] long, 73 feet [22 m] wide, and 44 feet [13 m] high. Since the only functions of the ark were that it be watertight and that it stay afloat, it had no rounded bottom, sharp bow, means of propulsion, or equipment for steering. Noah’s ark was simply a rectangular, chestlike vessel.

The ark had a carrying capacity equal to that of 10 freight trains of about 25 American boxcars each!

***Could the Ark Have Held All the Animals?

It is true that encyclopedias refer to over a million species of animals. But Noah was instructed to preserve only representatives of every “kind” of land animal and flying creature. Some investigators have said that just 43 “kinds” of mammals, 74 “kinds” of birds, and 10 “kinds” of reptiles could have produced the great variety of species of these creatures that are known today. The ark had about 40,000 cu m (1,400,000 cu ft) of usable space—ample for the passenger list.

I figured out the logic so now I'm on the creationist side. Noah was given computer and transporter technology. He then energized all the critters and stored them on a CD. When the flood was over he transported them directly to their natural habitat--well he transported the habitat to.

Modern creationist scientists have now discovered that the animals on the ark were actually freeze dried and packed in cellophane wrappers. When the rain stopped Noah threw the packets overboard and they floated to their destinations. When water seeped in they poofed back into live animals.

If I were Noah, I would have:

Obtained all baby animals. By selecting the youngest (and therefore smallest) possible of each species, the savings on weight, food, and space would be enormous.

Used fertilized eggs instead of born animals when possible.

Drugged the animals into a sleep or coma to reduce their sustenance needs and space requirements.

Very carefully... keep in mind that when the Bible says the entire world flooded, it most likely means what was the entire known world at that time... a very small area isolated to the western portion of the Arabian penensula.

Science proved only thing common to man is a legend of the flood. Science also proved there was no ww flood. So perhaps: It's "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4. It's an allegoric "mystery" with a "spiritual" moral to "learn": Romans 15:4. Go ye and learn.

Since the ancient primitives had no idea there were 10 million species of insect, the handful of known animals would fit into their imaginary boat.
