The problem in teaching fundementalist the bible was a Symbolic works of truth is they tend to defualt to what they know and that would be "their truth".
This view is about not wishing to see beyond what they have been taught as they are within a fear based belief system, an old one the Church grew as a weed.
Fundementalist of Any religion lead a spritualy Retarded growth. This retardation is what they agree to take in as truth and further what they agree to teach others whom will listen to their dogmatic doctrine.
What disturbs most is complete disregard for any investigation on their part to take a different look at an interpretation to see if it makes sense another way.
I have personaly learned truth and it is within each religion, in part, and is of symbolic nature and plain to see.
Noah's Ark is a symbolism and not a literal event; geologist have attested time and again there is No Physical Evidence that there was ever a Global flood, ever in the Earths 4.5 billion year existence.
A fundementalist test to determine if your in need of spritual awakening is to understand what is being taught to you. If within the bible you see Jesus as curing the blind man and this is "Proof" Jesus is the son of God and so on consider this:
Jesus was real, a man, Christ is representative of Jesus, the man, becoming one with God by spiritual evolution; Jesus also symbolicaly represented Truth and within the blind man story, the Truth will open the eyes of the spritualy blind and this was the lesson to all, the Church managed to twist it to there satisfaction making jesus "belong" to Christians and Jesus never taught this.

God makes The Rules.... God could very well have(and did) cause such a flood... just because men can not comprehend it does not invalidate what God did..... I did read some of that info and most all of it I have seen before..... where did all the water come from and where did it go after... ask God.... but in the mean time... there is plenty of evidence of where... there is more than enough water just in this solar system to account for the amount that would have been needed to cover the entire Earth... and it would not be any problem for God to move it in and move it out.... as the very fact of tectonic movement of the Earths crust can explain how the "evidence" has been altered... and add errosion by wind and water over the millenia.... no wonder that physical "evidence" on The Flood is slim today.

Well, I am a Christian. I do believe a flood happened with a person of God named Noah. I don't believe that the flood was a global flood.
Let's not forget that the Bible was not written in English. The Hebrew word for city, country, or world is essentially the same word. It could have been a small town that was flooded and not the entire earth.
I don't think that most people believe that the entire earth was filled with water and everyone drowned. A simple mistranslation of the word city and world could have a big impact such as this. I think most Christians understand that the flood was not a Global flood, but it was massive enough to wipe out a large number of people.

The flood is referenced in other parts of the bible as a literal event. Isa 54:9; 2 Pet 3: 5, 6; Heb 11:7 More importantly Jesus spoke of it as literal as he would have been an eyewitness to the event from heaven. John 8:58; Luke 17:26 & 27; Matt 24: 3, 37-29.
Interesting facts. There are 100's of legends on all six continents and islands that speak of a destruction by water, divine cause, warning given, humans spared, animals spared and preserved in a vessel.
The Chinese character for "ship" is derived from the idea of "eight persons in a vessel." Noah and his family numbered eight who survived by means of a vessel.
Frozen mammoth uncovered after thousands of years with vegetation still in its mouth. Marine fossils found on high mountians, evidence of a sudden, catastrophic global flood.
Noah was instructed to preserve only representatives of every "kind" of land animal and flying creature. Some investigators have said that just 43 "kinds" of mammals, 74 "kinds" of birds, and 10 "kinds" of reptiles could have produced the great variety of species of these creatures today. The ark had 1,400,000 cu ft of usable space. Plenty of room for the passenger list.
The earth is 70% water, 326 million cu mi of water. If the earth's surface was smoothed out, it would all be covered with water to a depth of 8,000 ft. So there was plenty of water to cover the whole earth.
There is no question in my mind that the flood did occur and is to be taken literal.

this is just satan trying to make you believe his lies.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD
God sent the animals to the Ark. Noah didn't have to get them.
The Bible says 2 of each "kind" of animal, not species.
If you believe in God, and that He created you and everything else on this earth and in the heavens above, why wouldn't you think He could orchestrate the building of an ark, and the global flood? He made the world, for heaven's sake! Just because man isn't smart enough to figure the whole thing out for himself? Are we smarter than God? No. And we never will be. So, why always questioning Him and all He does? Doesn't He do it for our good? I believe the Bible is the whole word of God. If you have doubts about that, you may want to examine your faith! God Bless

you quite like the be conscious "for that reason", do no longer you? no longer all theists say that morals come from God (or god, in case you like). I, for one, say that morals are instinctive to people for the point of societal residing. God is neither ethical nor amoral. God only IS. As our writer, God is our choose, jury and executioner, and rightly so. Our perspectives on actual existence variety from those of God's perspectives because of the fact we can't even understand eternity, and so for us, loss of existence is all to very final. to evaluate judgement with the aid of adult men in a court docket to God's judgement isn't even precise, because of the fact the two are so completely some distance aside with a view to no longer be even comparable. My motives for no longer believing the tale of Noah actually are lots diverse. I only don't think that Noah could have been waiting to place 2 of all varieties of animal on one boat, and then 4 extra of a few, and six or 8 extra of others. I additionally locate it fantastically no longer likely that this form of flood could have been a international experience if it did honestly ensue, yet a community experience.

I think alot of people waste their time trying to disprove the Bible. Arguing about the durability of wood is ridiculous. The fact that Noah built the Arc at all is a belief based on faith in the Word of God. All this 'size analysis' stuff is such a waste of time.... Its all fine for intellectual banter but the bottom line is God's ways are beyond ours and man will always try to disprove Him by his finite understanding of the planet.
Scientist A and X say it was physically impossible to ventilate the arc to a degree adequate to properly...blah blah blah... and you think believers in the BIble are going to turn their back on God based on that?

intellectual honesty.
like the Tigris Euphrates area is only 60 feet above sea level.
conservative estimate of 16000 species on one boat voluntarily?
I know of detailed DETAILED prophecy that is true. email me if you want it. It made me give up my intellectual honesty. I started to become some arrogant child with a referee whistle blowing it against god.
there is some parts of the bible that would lead someone to believe that it was a localized flood. could he have saved his animals? his kids were into ranching a little from what is in the bible. smart guy saving his livestock? Hey, I even gave up THAT idea.

Who says it does?
I am of the opinion that it is not literal. I do not believe a flood covered the entire earth. I believe a flood covered the entire earth as they knew it.
