I read the article and agree with it. Don't be like my grandmother and vote for someone just cause he/she is on a specific ticket. I try to pay attention to what they are saying and basis what I do or how I vote that way. Like the article said --be prudent in how you vote.
I don't about it affecting your salvation and I did not get that out of the article

I don't believe that how I vote will affect my salvation. But maybe whether or not I vote will! The act of voting, or doing anything of value, takes conviction and caring. I research into the candidates and become informed on everything I have a right and responsibility to vote on. That to me is more important than who or what I vote for, just that I took the time to do my part in all things to make the world better.

Yeah, guilt is the number one feeling responsible for luring people into the cage of religion.
It doesn't matter anyway...your vote won't affect your "salvation". It won't even affect the outcome of the presidency. Look what happened with Al Gore. Majority didn't matter then, why should it matter now.

That's totally stupid! I can find some moral fault with any candidate of either party, and Jesus didn't say anything about giving tax relief for the rich, fighting terrorism by invading the wrong country, kicking out illegal aliens, or banning gay marriage...

Apparently you have been neglecting your Bible reading lately. Or you would know that Jesus did call Christians to be involved in the politics of the world. He assigned them to be "light" and "salt" in the earth, meaning to have a leading and preserving role within the world. Kind of hard to do if you are not involved in making the laws and policies for the country.

Have you forgotten how many of God's people served as judges, generals, kings, stewards, and other improtant political positions throughout the Bible?

Will it affect our salvation? Probably not as it is based on faith, not what is happening in the political world. But it may affect our ability to preach that salvation to others. It may affect their willingness to hear it as society continues to "accept" various sins. It may affect their moral decisions as the law continues to permit the murder of the unborn.

So as a Christian, you should be very involved inpolitics, directing it in line with the laws and will of God.

Jesus said his kingdom was not part of this world so no. I have yet to see a politician that performs abortions. I do see ones that believe that that choice is between the person, the doctor, and that persons God. I am okay with that.

Not at all. In fact, if I remember right, the Bible preaches to pay your taxes, etc (give what is due to Caesar to Caesar) but otherwise obstain from worldly endeavors and governments.

Again, I dont remember the exact scripture.

Government is man made. Organized religion is man made. Everything man made is subject to corruption and unjust influence. If organized religion = man made and everything man made = subject to corruption and unjust influence then....

Not to say I havent voted before though nor gone to church.

No, I don't think voting affects my salvation, but I'm not Catholic either. I wouldn't say most churches are implying that, just the Catholic church. I do believe that who you vote for can change the spiritual climate of the country however.

Respectfully

well we should all know by now that religion and political agenda goes hand in hand these days. But to answer your question, no it won't affect your salvation. I wonder how many people actually believe this load of crap.

Not really. I guess it all depends on how I look at things. My church isn't going to come out and say we should vote for a certain candidate, or not vote for other ones. We believe in giving everyone their own right to choose who they want.
