IMO, environmentalist generally seem to believe in socialism more than they care about the environment. "The new red is green" is pretty close to true in most cases it seems. Often they are from the City and know next to nothing about the outdoors. They seek to belong to a cause and they care more than the rest of us. The same is true of GW worshipers.
PS. I have a new low energy dryer and low energy low water washer and they work great.

Ahem from a person who comes out of what was the North and had winters up until a few decades ago....global warming is very real and one car and one house give off a lot more pollution than a school bus or lawn mower or any of the rest. And if you are in Alaska the temperature has warmed up there considerably as well.If you want to continue to pay through the nose for oil and gas and send billions of$$$ to Saudi Arabia so that they can destroy more of your country and get away with something perhaps worse than 911 was, then carry on as though nothing is wrong on this dark planet.Otherwise think....if you have any faith in anything or anyone...how pissed off is God at us right now??? I do go after clothes dryers and school buses. I don't do it to worship global warming, I do it to protect your right to breathe clean air. Global warming isn't just about elevated temperature, there are toxic emissions associated with treating the symptoms.
What would happen if you leave the bus running and run a hose from the exhaust into your home? You die.
Outside beautiful Alaska, there are millions & millions of cars on the road all of them throwing emissions atmospherically through their exhaust. Outside Alaska, we are poisoning the atmosphere on a grand scale.
The winds and water circulate the earth. We are warming Alaska from afar.
In regards to clothes dryers? They draw thousands of watts of electricity per hour to run the dryer. Somewhere there is an electrical provider that produces more mercury emissions, more GHG emissions providing that electricity to dry clothes.
Have you ever used a portable generator? It runs off gas or diesel and you can plug in electrical appliances. It requires a big generator to produce the dryer's electricity, what if the exhaust for the portable generator was piped into your house? You die.
We may have geographically defined border, we are all dependent on each other environmentally.
In regards to warming the globe, it just isn't good for weather and changes the entire dynamics of the planet. Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-heatgain.html and see UV causing man made buildings to generate extreme heat. We treat the symptoms with ozone depletion, electrical waste and heat radiation atmopherically. You will see heat generation as high as 198 degrees, 212 is boiling.
The heat is going up and into air streams travelling the world with more heat being generated everyday. Drier forests contribute to more intense fires. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvLa8kkXLzg
Go to http://www.thermoguy.com and scroll down to the picture of the fetus. Click on the link to a study on polluted newborns. The toxicity ratio is 100%.
I am not a global warming worshipper, I am speaking out with solid science about issues that are affecting the health of you, me and the families of the world.
You better ask yourself what you are doing about it?

They are. Now we have clothes washers that use less water and clean fewer clothes, dryers that conserve energy but take twice the time to dry clothes, there is all sorts of talk about adding pollution controls to lawn mowers. School buses however belong to the government, so no action will be taken to make any changes to these.

What the heck is a global warming worshipper? I'll just assume you mean environmentalists.
Clothes dryers - environmentalists encourage drying clothes outside on a clothesline when possible. Also using energy efficient dryers.
Lawn mowers - personally I own an electric mower. Another option is to use a push mower. Again, environmentalists encourage these things.
School buses - buses are an improvement over cars because they are able to transport large numbers of people and thus reduce emissions overall.
Bottom line is that none of these things are particularly large contributors to global warming (and buses create fewer emissions per person than cars). As with things like CFLs, environmentalists encourage being as efficient and environmentally friendly as possible.
To answer mt zion - nobody I know believes in fairy tales. We believe in scientific evidence.

Some of them probably do.
I'm no global warming fanatic, but we definitely need to conserve oil and stop polluting like maniacs. We need to think a little more about nuclear energy, wind and water energy, solar energy, and other resources instead of just loading over the oil and wasting it.
The world is almost out of oil.
Please conserve.

I think what some people are saying here is so beautiful, about electric lawn mowers, recycling, little fairies flying around in the woods, loving the earth as your mother, oh dear, it's so sweet, I feel tears,.....but,...PLEASE DON'T FORCE YOUR VALUES ON ME, ah, that felt so good,.....

Just wait.
BTW, the climate in Alaska is cold because they put it by the North Pole--what were they thinking?
Dana, environmentalists care about the environment.
Global Warming Worshippers believe in fairy tales.
