is it safe to thaw and then refreeze homemade cookie dough?

I've already baked half, frozen the rest and thawed it once. I baked a few and put the rest back in to freeze again. Should it be tossed now that it's been frozen and thawed twice?

It's not recommended, but I do all the time.......

I DONT SEE WHYNOT, I MAKE A DOUBLE BATCH, COOK HALF AND FREEZE THE REMAINDER.... NEVER A PROBLEM WHY DO THE SAME WORK TWICE?
