For the millionth time.
Not all churches are dictating how a person should vote.
If they are, they should lose their tax exempt status.
All non-profit organizations are tax exempt.
If a church is non-profit, it should also be tax exempt.
Also, if all churches were taxed, then they could ALL "meddle in our government."

It was put there in exchange for not getting involved in American politics. I'd say the Catholic Church (particularly in the 1940s) was the first to break this rule. It's only recently that Catholic like protestants, Jerry Falwell, and Pat Robertson, over the past 30 years, have been getting involved in politics....
Politics corrupts religion.

This is the compromise so the churches can't take a percentage of your income. That's how it used to be in Europe. The Catholic Church was the first institution to
levy income tax.
