You need to call Sony and explain the problems that you are having with your PS2. Once they determine the problem they will give you an address in which to ship your PS2.

I doubt that your PS2 is still under warranty because most people have had their PS2's for a long time, but if your PS2 is still under warranty, Sony will fix it for free.

I once had to send my PS2 for repairs once for problems with the disk tray about 4 years ago, but my PS2 was still under warranty and Sony fixed it for free. I think that Sony can fix your PS2 for under $50 bucks because the parts on the PS2 shouldn't cost that much to replace.

And if you don't want to go through the trouble of getting the PS2 fixed, get a new PS2, or save up your money for the 60GB or 80GB PS3 because you could play your PS2 games on it.

Do a google search for "Sony PS2 Repair." You'll get dozens of repair depots and repair schemes. Don't know what's wrong with your machine, but I doubt that anyone will fix it for less than $50, including the cost of shipping.
