eating healthy takes an active conscious effort and it seems that the majority of the people here in the US are inherently lazy by nature. everyone is always looking for the "easy" way and the "quick" fix, nobody wants to work hard for anything anymore. I think the vast quantities of sugar laden, processed foods in our supermarkets are a direct reflection of the food choices that the average American has chosen to consume.

Its easy to say 'hey you know what...im gonna lose 5 kilos!' The thing is, whenever you walk past a mcdonalds store, you're like 'oh man, im hungry!!!'
It takes great will power to cut down on your eating or to consume less fatty foods. The problem is that we Americans hardly do any walking, we take the car to work, the elevator to our office and if we could, we would probably take a comfy sofa with wheels for shopping!! If you are gonna eat lots of food, at least make sure you stay active all day.

Because alot of our foods are just meant to taste good: they arent really concerned about the nutritional side so much. Its not that hard to eat healthy. You just cant eat whatever you want whenever you want, and you might be preparing alot more of your meals, and actually researching what you are eating. Not rocket science...
I have zero pity for fat people. Its not a disease you morons, its a laziness problem.

It's not that simple. We are descendants of the people who ate lots of food to store up for and survive the winter. So, we are programmed to eat as much as we can, whenever we can. It's hard to break that.
