you might try some sort of negative reinforcement. My aunt had a loud high pitch smoke detector. Every time my baby cousin went near the fridge, she would hit the button, and startle him. Took about 4 tries, and he was suddenly avoiding the water dispenser.

Or you might try cutting a wood block to fit behind the dispenser, so it cant be pressed in.

put a baby gate up or just discipline him (my little trouble maker is a him!! lol!) so that he will learn not to touch that. The only thing i baby proofed in my house were the electrical sockets. I moved the knives to a high cabinet so that he could not reach and i just corrected him every time he went to play with the cabinets or anything else he is not supposed to touch. I did not take things out of his reach, he just received a little tap on the hand every time he went for something he was not supposed to. I don't have to worry about him meddling in things that aren't his and every where we go people brag on how my son does not dig in their things, they have to learn one day and i feel that baby proofing only delays that lesson. Good luck

I would suggest getting a block of wood or styrofoam to put behid the dispenser to keep him from pushing it in, easily removed when you want a drink. or you could cover it with a sheet of paper. Just don't let him see you moving it bc he'll catch on quickly and remove it as well. Good Luck

I have 2 one from the fridge and one with a water bottle. The fridge I am lucky enough that it locks. But the water bottle I had to move to a place behind a baby gate.

We have teh ones that come out of the freezer door. Our 18 month old found them a few weeks ago. Only suggestion I have is to make whatever room it si in off-limits.

I hear ya. Our fridge just has a gray soft button on the back and nothing else. We can't lock it. If your child likes to play with it, then use disipline. When they do it, put them into time out and then when that is finished, make them clean it up. My son did that one time and that was all it took.

I myself would not move it or baby proof it. I would just keep telling them no no until they understood it was not to play with..
