this show equate to a liable argument against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? Or for that matter, a liable argument against any faith? This show has constantly spoofed religious beliefs, as like Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. Do you think using this argument of using the show, "South Park" negate any statement against or for your belief? Remember their spoof of Scientology. Isaac Hayes, a Scientologist left the show, because he did not want to be part of a show that makes fun of his beliefs. That's all well and good, but why didn't he make that same argument for the spoofs of other belief? Do you he did the right thing, or do you believe him to be hipocrite? Can you truly rely on the creators of "South Park" as a reliable source?

Wes and alacard (I think):
You say that the creators have done their research on the Mormon faith. Where by chance did they get their research? I wonder, if they supplamented their research of anti-Mormon lit. with pro-Mormon lit.? It is a question that they need to answer.

I just watched part of that episode so I could see what they said. Some things are right, others totally off. They say that they researched it, but the research that was done wasn't of the highest quality.
I'd say since the church doesn't authorize this as a teaching tool, it isn't the best place to go to for info. A better bet would be going to members of the church, the church's website, or other sites from LDS people.
As far as the guy leaving the show when his religion was attacked, he's a pansy!! If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. He should have realized that other religions might be upset by their representation too.

There are so many. Home work Qs. Can you give me tips on how to study. I got a violation for that one cause I answerd "Study Stupid". The one were the mother wanted to know if her 4th grade daughter could pass to 5th grade with all Ds and 1 C. I say that's dumb because instead of studing with her kid she's asking if her kid could just slid into the next grade that was a dumb Q from a dumb mother. I'm I pregnent. My 6mo old has a fever of 103 should I take him to the hospital. I could go on and on like I wrote so many.

Well to be honest I did some fact checking after I saw it because I didn't think that anyone could be that gullible. Now I admit that they put it in about the worst possible light, but I couldn't find a thing that was factually inaccurate.
I also couldn't find anything factually inaccurate about the beliefs in the Scientology episode. The only thing they did do there was mis-represent the position of the leadership.

South Park is not a show that I think would do any person of faith any good.
The writers may be brilliant, but a lot of the content is too foul for my taste.

At the end of the "Mormon" episode - the Mormon kid basically says - maybe his religion has holes in it, and John Smith was lying, but he has a great life and family b/c of his faith, and he's not hurting anyone.
People respect the opinons on S.P. b/c they don't play favourites.

South Park makes fun of everything and everyone. That's why it is so great. They even did a couple episodes on atheism. No, it's a terrible source for information. But it's funny and awesome.

its reliable because matt and trey actually researched the subject before making the episode.
they presented what they found in witty cartoon form.
there is a multitude of sources that support the south park version.
also they didnt say anything that wasent already known

Only if you consider the Flintstones reliable for the stone age. It is a cartoon whose humor is based off the veiws of the writers. It's funny, made to make you laugh, but using it as a source???? Stick to the usual resourse info.

Isaac Hayes was a willing partner in making fun of everyone else's beliefs, handicaps, and faults. But as soon as it was turned onto his beliefs, he ran away screaming foul, like a little girl. He was the biggest hypocrite of the entire cast.

yes, cause south park gives out the flat out truth and makes it funny, or they just hate something and totally bash them, ether way most of the time its one in the same, as for the dude that left, he felt they went to far which is weird cause they have done much worse
