Fish is generally healthy.
The downside of canned sardines is if they're packed in oil. You're getting added calories from the oil.
However, they do taste good.
Some people are freaked out about fish and mercury, but I believe the benefits out weigh the mecury scare.
As with all things moderation is the key.

I think they are very healthy, and I don't mind the oil because it is soybean oil and is so good, I crush crackers in the oil when I am finished with the sardines. BUT I am selective on my sardines and only eat Commander Sardines. Excellent. I thought I was one of few who still like sardines . . . . lol

Why not buy fresh ones? Pilchards in tomato sauce are nice.
