We're getting married in Pittsburgh next October. We'd like to have the ceremony and the reception in the same place, and we have lots of guests coming from different states, so we would like the place to look nice, i.e. no firehalls. We also have a caterer that we want to use. It seems like all the nice places have their own catering and the inexpensive places where you can BYOB and food are dumps. Internet searches seem to only find the expensive places with boring caterers. Any ideas?

Check with state or city parks.

Liquor might not be allowed, but you might check with your local Parks Division for what's allowed or required to use State/City/County parks. You might also check private estates to see if they rent out their grounds. Check your local yellow pages or government website for wedding info.

If you already have a caterer in mind, ask them where they've been. Chances are, someone else has wanted what you do and they'll have contact info for those locations.

Keep an eye on the newspaper for wedding expo announcements. There are usually many vendors and locations willing to talk to you and get your business. Most will have photos so you can see what they've got.

i might say have a constrained time bar. Have an open bar from say 6-9 or in spite of the hours are; no longer all night. additionally, particularly some places are extra inexpensive in case you haven't any longer have been given the reception on a Sat. Buffet variety dinners are additionally extra inexpensive then sit down dinners additionally for the bar you're able to do beer and wine only so no perplexing liquor is in contact. that's what i'm doing for my reception. it quite is frequently extra inexpensive and human beings maximum in all likelihood won't get hammered as rapidly.

Check out local museums as well as the civic club buildings.

Both usually allow you to bring your own caterer (although a few I have researched have a list of caterers to choose from) and in PA are frequently BYOB.

the problem is OSHA really frowns on BYOF weddings, in case someone gets sick, this is why most places require you to buy food from them.
