I don't see anything wrong with making the registry personal. I had a friend who got married recently and they had board games and camping gear on their registry. It was cute and showed they have fun personalities.
Your registry should reflect your needs. If someone doesn't want to buy you a DVD, then they can select something else off the list. Of course, no one is required to buy you a gift.

Buckle up, honey, for the reason which you're in for many folk telling you the way awful you're for even suggesting a marriage registry. in my opinion, as quickly as I provide somebody a recent i intend to make valuable that's something they a)opt for or b)can use. If what you particularly need and opt for is a honeymoon, i've got not got a difficulty with it. i'm a believer that reviews are consistently greater desirable than stuff besides. i've got fortunately offered off of classic and honeymoon registries for acquaintances. That being pronounced, once you're eighty 5 years previous and have your toddlers, grandchildren and probable large grandchildren over on your place there is unquestionably something to be pronounced approximately having a vase or something interior the residing house you could say became a marriage present. My grandparents kicked the bucket some years in the past and the few products they nevertheless had that have been wedding ceremony presents have been truthfully enjoyed by ability of something of my kin. i'm not announcing which you're able to desire to have a registry finished of pizza cutters or napkins or regardless of which you do not opt for - yet some valuable products that could desire to be heirlooms isn't a bad thought. I merely form of expertise that, in 2011, it would desire to be time for people to unclench merely a splash and open their minds as to what's and is not 'ideal'. the worldwide is a consistently changing place and that i don't probably comprehend why a number of those rules would be unable to alter with it merely a splash.

You can put anything you want on your registry. Movies are fine. We were registered at Amazon.com, and had all kinds of items on the list - kitchen appliances and linens along with books, video games, electronic gadgets, even a guitar. Later we re-used that same list as our "wish list" for the holidays, as his family always makes wish lists. The main "rule" with the registry is to make sure you have items from all price ranges, so people can pick and choose what they're comfortable giving.

I think movies are a great idea. You might consider picking a couple of games for your registry since you will be at home a lot.

The whole point of a wedding registry is to request what you need!!! All of your friend and Family should understand. They are aware that you are pregnant and could use what you need. You can check out these sites.

Instead of putting those things on, ask for gift cards on your registry as well. That way you can purchase dvds and other similar things on your own. That's what my hubby and I did, besides getting other things for the house that noone else purchased.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, I would probably just ignore it if I saw it on a registry. I would prefer to buy someone something for their home, i.e. good knives, really nice sheets.

Honestly I don't see nething wrong with it... but others might... Just to save face with my registry I didn't tell everyone about it... so I could still get the things that I wanted with the money that we received!!!

I vote for listing traditional household items (towels, kitchen tools, etc) that you may need, and list gift cards as an option - that way you can get DVDs or other things you may need AFTER the wedding.

Sorry, no one needs DVD's. And if you're on a budget, you should be renting movies, not buying them!
Ask for gift cards. Or, take some of the money you will probably receive and buy yourself a Netflix membership.
