I myself am not a size zero usually although I did try on a shirt in a zero as I actually found one in a shop ( I live in the uk so it's not all that common), and i have to say it fitted quite well considering I'm a size 8 and american zero is the same as a british 4, so I think the whole hype is a little overrated. Just the term "zero" creates all sorts of drama, as though it's some sort of size for women with nothing on them.
I also think that this has had so much media hype because being skinny is not as common as it once was.
For example, we could say something like "size zero women, with waists the size of a seven year old, and ten inches below the average waist size for a grown woman", sounds pretty sick right? Wrong, the average waist size is like 32 inches or something, and the average 7 year old is alot bigger than they used to be, so we should really be looking at the problem of childhood obesity.
A few years ago, size 8 was a 24-inch waist (my mum told me all this), it's now 26, so the proportions have slowly crept up as the nation continues to get fatter.
So there were women walking around sporting 23/24 inch waists but no one ever accused them of being anorexic.
It is true that some size zero women ARE anorexic, but in no way is "size zero" a factor for the disease as it is a mental disorder that develops for a multitude of different reasons.
People who starve themselves to become size zero are mad, but they're not anorexic.

Pay attention to the answers, ladies. Only women think they need to be size 0, all the answers given by men indicate they don't like how a size 0 looks. There may be a given few men in this world who want a size 0 stick figure, maybe it's their fetish, but the majority of men do not want someone who looks like a little girl who'll break in half when they fall down. It's simply beyond me why a girl would want to look so ghoulishly skinny, it's not cuz guys desire it.

I think you're completely right! Although I am not a size 0 I am naturally very thin and I sometimes feel the same way. Years ago I tried to put on weight too (not in a healthy way I might add) but eating a lot of junk food was only making me sick. What I do isn't necessarily dieting, but just taking care of myself. Eating right and exercising, I don't spend my day counting calories or taking part in extreme work outs. I do yoga and run. I eat healthy foods. I agree people should love their bodies but they need to healthy no matter what size they are.

Size zero is pathetic!! Really, I think it looks disgusting and un-attractive. I understand people who are naturally thin but I don't understand people who are an average size and would love to look that skinny.
I'm a size 12/14 and I'm not totally happy with my size but I go the gym 5/6 times a week and have dropped 2 dress sizes since this summer. I just really do feel sorry for anyone who wants to look like a bag of bones, It really is awfull and most men prefer women with atleast some meat on them :)

I find it a little odd. I don't like that anyone would go out of their way and starve themselves to be a size zero as it's unhealthy and I don't know any guys who find skinny women that attractive. Having said that I wouldn't condemn size zeros as everyone has a natural size and there are bound to be women out there who are a size zero and perfectly healthy. I used to have a friend who would probably be a size zero, but was perfectly healthy. She hated being so thin as she could never find clothes to fit and everyone made skinny jokes about her :P
So if you're a size zero just because you were built that way then it's fine but no-one should hate their body so much that they would starve themselves to become one. And no I have no desire to be a size zero. I'm sure if I lost that much weight I'd end up with no boobs which would be an awful pity

i dont like size 0s it is just not a healthy weight and i have a thing about when i can see everybone of a person sticking out of them.
If a person has something wrong with them like a medical condition and it causes them to be a 0 then fair enough they are probably getting help for it.
i am not a 0 lol but i am 5"7.
i never want to be a 0.

I'm 5'2", 105-107lbs and typically wear size 0's in women's stores and size 1's in Jr sections (I'm 28, by the way). I've always been this size. It's natural for me and wouldn't recommend anyone try to get there by starving themselves. Focusing on numbers is really not how to define your beauty or worth.
And I honestly think a lot of those trashy magazines guess at celebrities' sizes, without actually knowing. So don't believe them when they tell you so-and-so is a 0 or 2 and try to compare yourself to that. It's not worth it.
