The cost of this really depends on how sick the pup is and how much supportive care it will need to recover. Most of the time these pups are treated with IV fluids and also given antibiotics for secondary infections. I have heard of one vet giving a pup a blood transfusion. That pup had been very sick and in ICU for a few weeks, then I got the call that they wanted to use one of my dogs for blood donation. That pup did pull through, I don't even want to think of how much the owners paid that clinic though.

OK - my dobie pup had parvo - after two weeks of extensive IV fluids and medication - he made it. It cost a total of $200.00. The vet called him the "miracle dog" - I am not sure of the percentage of dogs that make it. You have to withhold food and water from them during the treatment period. It is a terrible terrible illness. The good news is, if your pup makes it, he will have a lifetime immunity to parvo and will never ever get it again.

Different vets charge different prices, but I was shipped a dog a while back and it had parvo.Vet kept it in hospital and the cost to get it out was $750.00.She pulled through the parvo, but many pets don't.Just according to your pets immune system and the care given by Vet if it comes through.

Last time I knew someone who had to treat for Parvo it cost over $1500. This is NOT a cheap disease to treat and it is often fatal, especially if not caught early.

Would you ask this question if it were your child or elderly parent needing treatment?
