Alright, I'm not entirely sure where this goes, but Yahoo Answers shunted it into the 'Health' category, and as I have no better suggestions, I'll stick with that.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with drinking menstrual blood, and if it is in fact....pleasant. My boyfriend suggested it, and expressed the view: 'I like the taste of blood. I like to go down on you. Tasting blood and going down on you is pure funk.' Which seems hopelessly uninformed.

So, what I'd like to know:
is it in fact... enjoyable, or indeed tolerable... for the giver, in terms of taste/smell etc.?
and
are there any health risks?

It would be nice to get answers from someone who's tried it, but even if you haven't, feel free to contribute something bar "ewwww....gross."

Haha. I knew my request for only...useful....contributions would fall by the wayside.
I highly doubt it'd taste the same as ordinary blood. And potentially quite awful. Which is why I'm rather cautious about it.

You aren't freaks... i have heard of this before. In fact there's a special name for it, though i can't remember exactly what... i think it might be rainbow-kiss or something rainbow... anyway, you can google it.

To be honest, if its something he wants to do then you needn't worry about how it tastes/smells... I personally find it difficult to imagine that it normally tastes pleasant down there, but my boyfriend (and yours by the sounds of it) thinks it looks/ tastes/ smells amazing, and would do it all day long if he had his way! On the other hand, if you're not comfortable with it, then just say no and let that be the end of it. Everyone has there limits, and obviously this is yours. If he loves you then he'll understand.

Health risks are pretty negligible i would say... he would be extremely unfortunate to catch HIV orally, but it can happen.

Good luck, whatever you decide.

I'm with the Valkyrie on this one.... Some cultures believe that women will pollute the water because of this natural occurance and they were forbidden to go near the water upstream of their tribes. I'd imagine it's good for roses though...

The only real health risk is the serious risk of STDs and STIs and any other form of blood related disease that you might have. But if you're confident that you don't have anything like that then by all means go ahead.
I personally find it a bit disgusting but if you're both consenting adults then that choice is upto you.
Whatever floats your boat, as they say.

but yeah, no real health risk unless you're infected with something.

It's not actually real blood. It's the female body's way of expelling unused eggs and cells and crap like that, all the bits that would have been needed if her eggs had been fertilised . So surely to drink this would be like trawling through your neighbours rubbish bin?

I actually do enjoy doing that with my g/f. I find it more of a turn on. It can be messy, but haven't found any drawbacks...unless the recipient wasn't clean that is. Hope that helps.

I wouldn't have thought it was hygienic really to do that or very pleasant, but as they say everybody is different and people like to try these things but me personally, no thanks.
