I bought my son the gerber graduates. Ravioli, and Spaghetti, and ect in the little tubs, and we also bought the little microwave dinners to that come in the little boxes, but one major thing I can recommend, is CHANGE YOUR DIET!!! It makes things so much easier and that is the problem with most people anyways. They eat junk, but force their kids to eat healthy. Just be healthy with them.

This is a good time to help your child develop good eating habits that will last forever. If you bombard him with sweets, he will prefer them over savory foods like meats and vegetables. Many doctors will tell you that you need to try a new food 20 times before you know if a child this age will accept it or not. Don't give up on broccoli or green beans if he rejects it the first, second or third time. Keep trying. Most of all, you want to give him a wide variety of foods and not just the same two or three foods over and over.

You will want to give a child this age softer foods that he can easily chew and swallow without choking. Steaming broccoli on the stover top in a simple basket steamer with a few ounces of water is very easy and provides one of the most nutritious foods available. You can also steam baby carrots until they are very soft, then cool them and let him chew on them.

Some parents are concerned about feeding ready-made baby food from a plastic container. Some say chemical leach into the food from the plastics. Organic baby food in a glass container is the best choice.

Some good savory foods are:
squash
mashed peas
green beans
broccoli
cauliflower
carrots
sweet potatoes
mashed potatoes

Do not get a child accustomed to fast foods including french fries. They will discover this stuff soon enough. The longer you can hold off on putting this junk into their bodies, the better. Remember, you are helping this little guy to develop life-long eating habits at this point. Do him a favor.

You can never go wrong with a blender, bananas and apples. Also, oatmeal with a little fruit is good, and you can always go to the store and get him some of those meat sticks from Gerber. They come in beef, chicken and turkey. I think you are on the rigth track; babies do not need alot of the things we eat and it does not sit well on thier little tummies. Especially foods that use alot of seasonings and preservatives, etc. Also, I don't know a baby yet who has come into contact with Gerbers apples and Ham and didn't love it! Give him that and a side of veggies and he will be happy. Try giving him some good wholesome food, and he might aquire a taste for it! blessings.....

While he can eat everything you do, if you are concerned with the nutrition you can also give him fruits and veggies out of jars (stage 3 baby food). Apple sauce is fantastic. If you want to smoosh up some bananas he will love that. he will really love feeding himself and getting a feel of the bananas in his fingers. So while he is enjoying dinner time with the family, you can feed him healthy snacks. Sound good? that way you are helping your mom out.

Your mom should not be feeding any of you junk, but if you want your little brother to eat healthy food, then you all need to eat healthy. Kids learn by example, so if the rest of you are chowing down on junk, he won't want to eat good food. Try to get your mom to buy healthier food, and tell her it's important not only for your brother, but for all of you to eat healthy. But you know, making meals is a lot of work. Offer to cook a few times a week, and help your mom cook, too. If junk food isn't in the house, he won't be able to eat it. When he gets hungry enough and healthy food is all that's available, he'll eat it.

Avoid foods that can cause choking, such as peanuts, popcorn, hot dogs or sausages, carrot sticks, celery sticks, whole grapes, raisins, corn, whole beans, hard candy, large pieces of raw vegetables or fruit, or tough meat. these cause chocking.

Do not give sweets or sweetened beverages

foods you can give baby are

cooked Vegetables

canned fruit

Ravioli ( i may have spelled that wrong)

Spagetti with light sauce.

sloppy Joes with little pieces of hamburger.

this is what my 1 year old cousin and nephew eats.

What you feed him now will determine how he eats when he is older. My toddlers love............

pasta with butter and vegetables(buy frozen mixed vegies).
cut up chicken breast with vegetables or baked potato(peeled).
cucumber and tomato salad with splash of vinegar&oil.
Quesadilla with mushrooms and chicken.
french toast with jelly(sweetened w/fruit juice not sugar).
vegie sandwiches- mustard, cucumbers, tomato, cheese, avocado.
cheerios or other unsweetened cereal with whole milk.
macNcheese-homemade just boil pasta& add cheese, milk, spices, then bake for 30 min at 375.

Toddlers can eat what you eat as long as it is fresh and semi- homemade. No fast food. Fast food has chemicals in it, none of us should be eating it.
