I mean, what do Bible-fundamentalists know about logic anyway?

I think they kinda have their own screwed-up logic. I don't understand it, but it seems to rest on the premise that when Jesus said "Love one another" what He meant was "judge and condemn anybody who does not follow your specific rule-based, exclusive theology." All the while saying that everything in the bible must be read literally....

It sounds funny (peculiar) because they aren't using logic especially if they are talking to a non-believer.

A non-believer cannot understand the things of God. II Cor. 4:4 That's why it's so very important to keep giving the Gospel to people even if they've heard it a million times ... we never know when God will give that person the change of heart he/she needs to accept Jesus as their Savior. Another thing to remember too ... we are all co-workers ... one plants, one waters, but only God gives the increase. Don't get discouraged and never stop praying for them.

God gives to all "His children" (believers) spiritual gifts and talents and not all receive the same gifts or talents.

Logic comes from constant study of God's Word and our relationship to things around us. If we keep doing the same things over and over we will get the same response or answer. So if we want something different to occur then something has to change ... does it not? Ah, logic!

Just like an unbeliever's thinking is totally different than a believer's. The unbeliever must change his thinking in order to get to heaven. It becomes evident or logical that he can't get there with his current thought patterns.

Example: Would it not be logical to think a person was going to mail a letter if you watched them holding a letter in their hand walk into a post office and drop it in the out-going slot?

Even the mentally challenged can think logically at times ... don't be too harsh on people who are different than yourself.

Fundamentalism is a rather new cult of religious theory. Fundamentalists first regarded interior the early twentieth century as a back-lash in the direction of intellectualism. they're frightening of their perplexing-coated ideals that important flow frequent Christians rebuke. they're as risky and unreasonable as Islamic Fundamentalists, who're in many situations avoided with the aid of mainstream Islamists. Fundamentalists do no longer characterize Jesus Christ yet rather a loopy mishmash of ideals that attempt to take each and every thing interior the previous and new testaments actually (extraordinarily that that's conservative). even nevertheless, Christ in comparison going back into the previous testomony for direction like stitching rags onto a sparkling garment and putting new wine in previous skins. So, as Christians, the words of Jesus Christ are all we've ever mandatory and all we ought to continually communicate approximately whilst searching for direction. And whilst Fundamentalists ask you whilst you're saved, only tell them it is between you and Jesus and none of their corporation...era.

I agree with Mike, it is as funny as those who believe that everything is a coincidence.
As for Paradox I have never seen a Bible that gives dates, as far as I know none of the original Hebrew texts include any date, although I have been told that the Jewish theology does teach the world is 6000 years old.
I was raised in a Christian home, going to church regularly, and it has been only in last few years that I have heard anything about Christians believing in that time frame.

Look around you, see everything? Sure, why? Because of the visible light spectrum, right? And we know the spectrum is nothing more than waves, as its a chart of wave lengths.

We know that out of this entire spectrum we only see 10%, the "visible" light spectrum. So that means there is 90% unseen to us, which means unknown.

Now go out, and duct tape up 90% of your car windows and go for a drive. Can you see where you are going? no. Can you see what you passed? no. Can you see anything really out of that 10% sliver of the entire world around you as you drive? no.

So, how can one stand there and say, "there is no god, or there is nothing past what we know, we know all". When its very clear, by science facts of 5th grade, that that statement just can't be logical. As we don't even know of the 90% we can't see, touch, feel, smell, taste or hear.

So how can we, as humans, of any religion or non religion say, "we know it all"?. We can't, and we all fool ourselves in thinking we can.

Its like the giant squids. We heard of them in past stories and figured myths. Then we send a sub under the ice of the poles and what do we find? 45 ft long squids matching the stories.

Man should not be so fast to dismiss things, as man is just a speck in the bigger picture. Just map out the size of earth to all the other planets in our galaxy and you will realize we are not even the size of a grain of sand compared to what is out there. Yet we claim we know all. Humans are ignorant creations.

Almost as funny as the logic used by atheist to believe theories based on coincidence.

I was once given a "logical" answer to why dinosaurs lived with humans and how the earth was 6000 years old.

It is like mathematically showing that strawberry is the best ice cream flavor.

You mean the people who's motto is: "Don't think, just believe"??? This is what they are instructed to do, as they enter the Creation Museum!!!! It's hilarious isn't it? Another thing that's really funny, and they are back at this today, is to deny that the bible ever said that "god" created the earth 6000 years ago. Thats how dishonest they are. I have an 1814 bible that gives dates to ALL major biblical happenings, including "creation"...which is given as 4004 BC.

It is wicked to mock the afflicted, my granny told me. these people have faith but no brains, which is their affliction - all they know about logic is that it disagrees with the old testament and is therefore wrong.
There is humour there, but it is a sad and black humour.

PS you think you have it bad, I have to share a pew with these guys!

It's funny because they believe in talking snakes, and that the Earth is less than 10,000 years old.
