Absolutely. One does not have to sacrifice intelligence to believe in God.

Sensible can be a relative term...what is the context of thier sensibility?

I believe with every part of me that christianity is a sensible religeon, but unfortuantely sensible christians can sometimes be hard to find.

Hi there.
Of course we do. There are lots of sensible reasons to believe in God.
As the philosopher said, if you spend your life following the ways of goodness as set down by Christ, you will one day die and be rewarded. If it turns out you were wrong, you will still have led a good life and at the end of it lost nothing.
How sensible can you get?
Cheers, Steve.

the concept of god is logical. whatever allows us to exist would be god. since we seem to exist, something probably allows that. whether it be simple energy or some crazy white guy with a beard, no one is ever likely to know. religion and atheism are flawed in the same way. both pretending to know what they cant. people should just say its probably something, but i cant fathom what it can be. enough people on this planet cant even do long division, or understand the theory of relativity, let alone all the concepts in this physical world. so there is nothing not sensible about believing in god, but its not sensible to pretend you can understand it.

It depends on your religion. A person with a religion in which they don't believe in God may say it is foolish to believe in God. A person with a religion in which they do believe in God will say it is very sensible to believe in God. A matter of opinion.

Yes indeed! Even a lot of nonsensible people when God calls them to Himself. Even the demons believe.

John 3:12 (Jesus talking to Nicodemus in the garden .. religious leader at the time) "If I have told you earthly things and you do not beieve, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?"

John 1:12, 13 But as many as receivd Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 6:28, 29 Then they (people seeking Jesus) said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" 29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you "believe" in Him whom He sent (Jesus)."

John 20:30, 31 And truly Jesus did many other "signs" in the prescence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these (signs) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (the annointed One), the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even demons believe ... and tremble!
