YOU receive nothing.. your spouse does. He will receive BAH based on your zip code while he is in training. it will take 6-8 weeks before he will be paid. It will be retroactive. He has to set it up so that the pay goes into an account you have access to or he sets up an allotment to send it somewhere you have access to.

My suggestion is:
Contact any marine base (boot camp = marines)
ask their finance department this.
you can even ask his recruiter to give you number.
Make sure you get a Power of Attorney signed before he goes.
This way you can take your marriage certificate, ID and your POA to that finance department and discuss his finances.
If you dont have a POA they might deny you even talking about it
Then youll have to work the chain of command and show youre married. Takes too much time. GET THAT POA
My experience in Army was married friends always seem to have trouble recieiving their housing allowance and ended up getting it retroactively once they went to their duty station.
Maybe their wives didnt know better.
So GET THAT POA

Your BAH will be on the first check you receive which likely will be the 15th of July. You will only get BAH for the amount of days you have been active so it might not be the full amount. Your first few paychecks are going to have some money deducted for your uniforms and such. You will also be receiving family separation pay while you are there too. Good luck!

once he reaches boot camp they'll have him inprocess, filling out forms requesting BAH. Make sure when he leaves he has the original copies of the mariage certificates and birth certificates of any and all children, even if they are his step children.
it will take a few pay days to kick in but he should recieve BAH..
helpfull hint get a power of attorney before he leaves.

If your husband is going into the Marines then he will get some extra paperwork when he gets there. They will have him fill out papers on beneficiarys and dependents. They will give him extra pay just because he is married and that money should be accesible by you for whatever you need. If he has any problems getting that pay to you or you have problems on your end then he will need to talk to his Senior Drill Instructor and he will take care of it.
