Catholics: do you believe that aborted babies end up in limbo or purgatory for a finite time until they're saved by grace?
Baptists: can the unbaptised enter Heaven under special circumstances?

If aborted babies do go to Heaven, that would seem to suggest that "choosing Jesus" is not as important for entrance into the kingdom as we used to think--free will is necessarily degraded.

If they don't, free will is also degraded because the souls of aborted children certainly did not choose to turn away from God, either.

How can we preserve free will?

Bumpsetspike said something very interesting:

"Absolutely. They have committed no sin. Some would say that heaven is not their reward because "they have not accepted Jesus" or "they have not been baptized." But how can one accept Jesus who has never heard his name? And why baptize (a process to cleanse one from sin) when no sin has been committed? Surely you can't believe a baby or young child can commit sin before they've learned right from wrong. So why baptize them in an effort to wash away their sins? Seems unnecessary and even blasphemous. Little children are clean and pure before the Lord and if they did not have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ in this life will surely be granted the opportunity to know him in the next..."
Does this logic apply only to babies, or to others who cannot be expected to know Jesus? What about the Aztecs or the Chinese of ancient times, for example? If they are exempt as well, it seems that the value of evangelism is questionable...

There is no such thing as an aborted child. Just fetuses and embryo's, and they are not alive yet.

In response to your "Additional Details" yes, this same principle would apply to anyone who never had the chance to learn about Jesus Christ. I'm glad you brought it up. You can see now why I don't buy into the "you can't get to heaven unless you've been baptized" idea. Yes, it does say this in scripture and I believe the word of God. But what about the innocents who never heard of Christ? Are they damned because of the generation in which they lived? Does not this seem unjust? I believe Jesus Christ is essential to salvation and so once again, like the children who never knew him, those who did not have chance to learn of him in this life will learn of him in the next. As for baptism for those folks, the concept of "baptism for the dead" can be found in the Bible as well. There are no loopholes in the Plan of Salvation!

You've misquoted the bible. The sins of the father are not on the children, the sinful nature is. The bible is clear: no child pays for the sins of their father. That's biblical. Of course Satan doesn't have all the information, just like you. Satan knows, however, that children are a blessing from God. (Which means homosexual relationships are not blessed, but that's a side note.) Satan does not want people to be blessed, but he does want them to be guilty of murder. So, go ahead, and sacrifice your children to the god of convenience in birth control. You're selfish anyway. The bible says, that God has known us since the time of conception. If God knew you at the time you were conceived, then you were you at that time. God didn't say he knew the blob of tissue that would one day develop into you. He said " I knew YOU". This tells me, you had a soul since conception, since the soul is part of your being. So, biblically, aborted children go to heaven.

I almost didn't reply to this. g-- I know you're just messing with people... but here it goes.

Following Jesus (his ways, not him literally-- and not worshipping him either) is but ONE way to get to heaven (which is not a place but a state of mind)

Now, a child's mind (before the world's corruption) is very close to the mind of one who has found heaven, if not already.

With regards to an unborn fetus-- I would say that that which makes it "alive" is taken back and probably reintroduced in another physical body-- so it's "soul" or "energy" or whatever you want to call it, goes neither to heaven or hell (which, again are states of mind) but is kept in the order of creation until it is manifested in this physical world.

Oh, and btw... let's not take it so seriously!!! The WHOLE POINT is to live YOUR life in EVERY MOMENT! Let the universe worry about the other stuff and other beings!

Before the birth of this universe ALLAH(GOD) created Roah(SPIRIT) of every individual from start of this universe till the end of this universe. Then HE asked all of them "Am I not ur LORD?" and we all replaied yes.So every spirit of human which is transfrmed anin to human life even as pre born child after 4month pregnancy has the true religion and faith till he/she opens its eyes in this world and its envoirment transform its faith. So all those life which has been taken awy premature or even before adolesence just goes into HEAVEN because they were not sinfull till they do not understand the religion that is the age of puberty.

I believe that Mother Mary escorts the souls of unborn children to heaven herself.

Aborted babies will be born again to finish what they originally came for; to undergo training and screening in this life so as to qualify for Heaven.

It's an open question, as a Catholic you can believe they go to heaven or to Limbo, that is a place of natural perfect happiness.
