Piter, who was traveling with Jesus for several years, Sow his cute miracles, Learned from God personally - manages to deny him 3 times. Tough Gospel’s don’t exactly agree how many times (twice X3 or just 3) the question rises “who was Piter afraid more? God or Roman soldiers?”
Interestingly enough many early Christians blame Jews for selling Jesus to Romans but at the same time they overlook that their own lovely Piter was a Jewish, was practicing Jewish law and preaching Jewish scriptures.
In case of Piter Jesus manages to forgive him , but what is striking in here that while most people had no idea who Jesus was, Piter knew exactly who he is, which makes Piter worst than anyone else.
That can actually be applied to all disciples since they all flee away at his arrest and after his crucifixion.

So let me recoup. All 12 are Jewish, who follow Jewish law, who personally walk with God (Jesus), who knew him for years and…. We know how it turned out to be. Now all those 12 … Are the lovely Apostles -while Jewish people who had no idea who Jesus was (compare to those 12 friends) were blamed for his death. How funny this is?
As Jewish person myself I am mostly upset with Judas account. Can you show a single Jew who sells anything as cheap as 30$ (silver coins). Even if we adjust for inflation at that time 30$ is practically nothing. Being a Jew I know it can’t be anywhere near as true. Imagine… You know that person next to you is a god, one that created earth and heaven, one that promises you heaven for eternity and the ONE who will condemn you to eternity hell for doing wrong things and you sell him for 30$?

Common, what about common sense? How about at least few hundred dollars? I don’t think 200$ box will be more use than 30 but still, selling a god for 30$ can’t be any further from the truth.
Questions:
Do you think Judas actually sold him for more money but was trying to hide the real income to avoid Roman taxes?
Do you think Roman soldiers are scarier than God’s eternal hell?
Do you think Piter who was Jewish and knew God personally is more forgiven than the whole nation that was not aware of Jesus?

"30 silver pieces likely more money than Judas would see in lifetime"
I wander how did you come out to this conclusion? Any evidence or just modern ignorance?

Who says that they betrayed him?

The gospels were re-written to make the Romans look better and the Jews look worse beaus Paul was trying to pitch the religion to the Romans not the Jews. Hence all the relaxation of all those dietary and other laws.

Given the Christian premise that Jesus had to be crucified for our sins, then he had to be crucified. The only people who were going to do that was the Roman government, so Jesus HAD to piss off the Romans or the influential Jews, and the disciples HAD to let him be captured and crucified.

Jesus narrowly-escaping-capture-and-living-on-the-run-for-the-rest-of-his-life for our sins does not sound like the basis of a religion.

Anyway, what sort of messiah and miracle worker can't strike dead a few soldiers?

Maybe it was the iron armor. After all his omnipotent dad was thwarted by iron chariots.

The classical Roman legion could probable beat all of them. 30 silver pieces likely more money than Judas would see in lifetime, otherwise. It was not cheap back then. Humans will always fear swords (especially if they can't match up weaponry or numbers). G-d's strength is internal, not a army-like force, despite the song (Onward Christian Soldiers). the Jews had plenty of notion who Jesus was; he just didn't fit their desired Moschiach.

first of all jesus was;nt god.he was the son of the god of issac.abraham, and jacob.i believe he was refered to as JEHOVAH.OR YHWH.the jews are the ones who had jesus killed.their so called high priests, who by the way are just like the modern day priests.they cause more trouble then what they are worth.and yes the people were more scared of the roman soldiers.they were like the nazis of the 30;s and 40;s.they did ;nt deserve to be treated as bad as they were by the nazis.but they paid the price for listening to their so called priests.and had jesus killed.
