I have been running lately (following the couch to 5k program on coolrunning.com) and I am up to running for 25 mins at a time. When I get to about minute 10 or 11, I get horrible cramps in my lower abdominal area (almost pelvic). They are so bad that I get nauseas and feel like I have to throw up. I tried to "push through it" yesterday, and it did get better a bit, but it still hurt like crazy! I had to walk for a bit just to not throw up all over the place...

Anyone know why??? I have been working out for about 2 months now, and this has only been happening the past week!

You could have eaten to soon to when you started your run. You could be dehydrated. You could have had too much water to drink before you started your run. You might need to check you breathing and regulate it.

It could be that you are breathing wrong.Try and breathe in through yournose and exhale through your mouth. This usually works for me. Or if you stop try pushing your fingers in the spot where it hurts and just work your fingers in the area. Or it could be that you just ate something right before you went to go run.

Also, cramps can be caused by dehydration and lack of electrolytes in your body.

Be sure and stay hydrated when you run and take a pinch or 2 of common table salt for the electrolyte.

It is because some of the chemicals in your body are getting riled up. It could also be becuase you are dehydrated or haven't eaten a good amount of food for energy.
