My 4 mos. male lab will get into his favorite spot, on the back of the couch at night, and just about when his eyes are to go completely closed he will move and wiggle around, he will do this over & over again until he finally falls asleep. It reminds me of a baby fighting sleep. Just wonder if any of you had a puppy or dog that did this.

All mine do it. They sort of build themselves a little nest and get it all comfortable before they settle down to sleep. It probably goes back to dogs in the wild when they drew up twigs and leaves to make a little den to keep themselves warm and away from predators.

How cute! My dog doesn't do this, but she naturally rolls over on to her back when she's in a deep sleep and she'll start twitching her legs when she's dreaming ;)

my dog lies down, then gets up, turns around on the spot and lies down again, then gets up and does the whole thing about 8 times until he is finally happy with his positioning!

No. My dog usually falls straight asleep (she is a hound) and only gets up when I do.
