Some people are claiming that evolution is a proved fact, could any of these formentioned people please tell me where and when and how, also in what scientific gernals was it published. What was the key discovery, and who made it.
Thank you very much, this is very important for my research.

Sorry for the typo.
So far all I see are statistics and MICRO evolution which is proven and I agree with, what about marcro evolution, which is what my question was refering to. By the way, I don't get flu shots.

A.Mercer - Thank you, this is what I also have heard and seen in researching this subject. I will not get into DNA and other things, but your main point is perfect.
Everyone - I understand the scientific method, and I know how it works, many evolution - ists have told me evolution has been proven - MACRO evolution - that would be - the big bang -
I would like to know, when and where the big bang, and people evolving from apes, was proven.
Thank you.

Are there any Atheists who believe in some other theory of origin than the big bang and evolution???
I'll post in a different question to get more answers also.

There are no facts just educated guesses. Though they might be educated they still are "guesses". That would be like me say that I guess the asker's name is Jasmine. What proof do I have to make this assumption? None, just that according to the profile she created she must be a woman. However, even men can click "female" if they choose to hide their true idenities. So these guesses of "well I think the world came from a big explosion" There's really no proof of that according to scientific methods. And as for the Creation theory there's no proof of that either. Both of these are in fact religious beliefs and when you get to the root of the matter they both take faith. Let me ask this. If I turn the light out in the room how long do you think I'd have to wait until an explosion occurred and turned the light on? A very long time. I'd probably die before it happens. How long do you think I'd have to wait if I went over to the light switch and flipped it on? Probably less than a second. If a simple thing like a light cannot be turned on by itself or by an explosion how can this entire world be created by one? And also if you even watch movies with explosions or read the news about terrorists attacks explosions don't create things. They destroy things. The Big Bang would not have created it would have caused destruction. Since there wasn't anything to create the Earth to begin with where did the chemicals come from that caused the explosion? It would be more plausibe to believe that God created the Earth than to believe an explosion created the Earth.

The Big Bang is pretty much an observation. That is, you can see it with telescopes. Because the speed of light is a fixed, finite number, when you look far away you see things as they were in the past. When large astronomical telescopes look at things very far away, they are closer together and hotter than things are now. That's the Big Bang theory. It is, in fact, possible to see all the way back 13.7 billion years, and see the time at which the Universe went from opaque to transparent. That's the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation. The Big Bang is one of the best-observed phenomena in modern astronomy. You might just as well doubt that the Sun exists.

The evolutionist will start with the complex and work backward in hope that it will all add up. The actual idea that an eye could be gradually developed over millions of years is ridiculous. The focus system, the lens, the iris, the rods and cones, the optic nerve, the brain to make it all make sense. And what told the evolutionary process that there was color or depth of field? What told evolution there were things to taste or smell or even hear? What frequency? What spectrum? All at the same time as the ear, the nose, the sexual reproduction system? It's ludicrous. And what of the soul? Of love? Of affection? Are these necessary for survival of the fittest? What about the search for our Creator? There is nothing evolutionary about that in the least. Why do we seek to save Eagle eggs or whales? Survival of the fittest. We are tampering with evolution by trying to save them.
DNA and the human body are far too complex to be thrown together by long periods of chance mutation, and natural selection. DNA is a very complex organic computer program that could never evolve out of such occurrences. So either you believe in the ET seed theory that such an organism was planted here by alien beings, or in a Designer who dwells in the eternal.

Schneb (above) has the correct idea.
"Evolution - proved as a fact?"
Nope -- but you'll get a lot of CYA concerning the supposed definition of "scientific theory" and "falsifiability" and blah, blah, blah, ad infinitum, ad nauseum...
"Some people are claiming that evolution is a proved fact..."
Claim doesn't make truth.
...could any of these formentioned people please tell me where and when and how...
Doesn't really exist -- just more theories.
"...also in what scientific journals was it published."
Don't believe everything you find in writing. After all, the Bible is proven to have been in writing for more than 3,000 years and they won't believe that -- so why should their writings be any more believable?
"What was the key discovery, and who made it."
Doesn't really exist -- just more theories.

Well, in science, a theory is treated as fact. Gravity is only a theory. Plate tectonics is only a theory. Time is only a theory. A theory does not mean wild guess. A theory is not something that has to be proven. It is an explanation based upon the current evidence. A theory can change as new evidence is uncovered. A theory can be replaced by a different theory as evidence is uncovered.
There is quite a lot of evidence that supports evolution. The fossil record, comparative anatomy, and DNA research have all backed it up.

They can not tell you any of this because there is no proven fact for evolution. All they can do is argue about "do Christians realize the true meaning of theory" and tell you that it is an explanation of a process.
Happykid~ Being accepted as fact does not mean fact. Being fact makes it fact, which the only proven fact there is that we exist. Also where do you get your numbers?

Claiming evolution as "fact" is a classic case of ipse dixit - one more unsupported assertion they expect others to accept without question, simply because they said it. Not that those on the other side of the debate don't do the same thing.
One of these days we'll all realize that saying something don't make it so. Maybe then we can actually have a real discussion on the issue.

Not yet. Evos are still looking for the link(s). It's an observation with lots of coincident details. It's hard to deny, but not a fact, as much as Evos want it to be.
look how scientist argue about dinosaurs. The first to say he thought they were birdlike was ridiculed. Now they were killed by explosions from underground, not meteors. It is always something else.

It is not a proven fact, it is a likely theory until it gets lumped with origins of life and such, but the basic theory and concept of evolution has some pretty significant evidence for it. Ex. is speciation and advanced forms for bacteria (ie. those resistant to antibiotics).

Evolution is a fact because we can see it happening every day, especially but not exclusively in organisms with short life spans, e.g. micro-organisms. What you're probably thinking of is common descent (the idea that all living organisms are related by reproduction), which is not an *observable* fact but is very strongly supported by all kinds of different evidence.
