The problem is that it hasnt been proven to reduce rates of violent crime. Opponents point out that if guns are made illegal they will only be sold on the black maket, which means only criminals will have guns. Studies show that states with gun control laws have higher rates of violent crime than states without gun control laws.

Problems are there are so many laws that even the BATF cant keep them all straight. In some cases they even contradict each other. They vary from state to state, and city to city. Add the federal laws to the list. It is almost impossible to keep track of all the laws.
A bye product of this is many criminals are armed very well, and the law abiding citizen typically is not. Remember the supreme court ruled that the police are not responsible for your protection. They don't show up until after the fact. Who does that leave to protect you, your family and property?
It is well documented that areas of higher gun ownership lead to less Violante crime. Look at crime rates in LA, D.C, N.Y, England, Australia where guns are virtually outlawed. Look up statistics on gun crimes. The number of gun crimes committed by illegal guns compared to legaly purchased.
The second amendment was not just for a well regulated militia. That is just part of the amendment. The Federalist Papers is a compilation of thoughts and writings of our founding fathers, this explains a lot about the writing of the constitution and bill of rights.
A good solution would be to consolidate all the laws into a few. Ultimately if every one was allowed to own and carry, criminals, by there own admission, would by less likely to commit crimes against you.

What are some problems in Gun Control in the US.

Gun Control is believed to be what helps stop crime in the US. The problem is they keep on making new and POINTLESS laws instead of Controlling the criminal aspects of crime. Criminals break the law, this is why they are called criminals. What is one more law going to do.

Stupid liberal and democratic thinking. Cars are involved in more deaths than guns by far...they are not banning cars are they?

Solutions. Give everyone a gun...the bad guys will A) get shot B) go to jail.

It's a really simple solution :Take the Second Amendment literally. If you want to own a gun then you have to be member of a well regulated militia .and do all the regular activities that members of the militias do.
Since you are a member of a well regulated militia then any violation of gun laws will subject you to military justice
If you read the Constitution from the perspective of "what was on their mind they wrote this" I becomes pretty danged obvious pretty danged quickly that the Founding Fathers were scared of the power of the mob. That's why they chose a republican form of government , that's why Constitutional amendments are almost impossible to to pass and that's why this way too easy access to guns by the any member of any mob would not be what they had in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment.
The Founding Fathers were revolutionary's not anarchists

We have hundereds if not thousands of gun laws in this country. They have done nothing to deture crime. The only people the affect is the honest citizen. Most of them are unconstitutional. The solution is for the Supreme Court to get some balls and do thier job.

The problem is trying to take guns away from the people who are armed with them. The people trying to take away guns are the people we need to defend ourselves from with them.

Guns don't kill people. Husbands who come home early kill people.
