If us Christians are right and you non believers discovered too late? You'd be sitting in hell burning and saying "Wow, all those Christians on yahoo answers were right and now its too late." I'm sitting here at my computer just thinking how much that would suck!! If it were the opposite way and nothing happened in the afterlife it would be like "No big deal, so now I'm a pile of dust. Oh well." But If I'm right............wow........you people are gonna fry like burned bacon.

People need to stop thinking that Christianity is this fluffy religion. God is jealous, and vengeful as well as merciful. If the way I choose to use metaphors and similes to convey my questions offends people, then read the bible because the way God describes the burning, wailing, and knashing of teeth in hell will make you faint.

I never said in my question that I was self righteous, or better than anyone else. I simply think it would suck if people went to hell. So answer the question and stop putting words in my mouth.

As for the comment about being a bad christian...........whatever. To me a bad christian is someone who is too chicken to stand up and say that our religion teaches that non believers go to hell. So you can just sit back and watch your friends burn if you choose... not I said the fly.

Isn't going to suck if all the Muslims are right and you are all going be condemned to hell for being so self righteous?

It is totally going to suck if the Hindus are right and you come back as a cockroach because you have your head stuck so far up your rear end.

And isn't really going to suck big time if the Mormons are right and you are stuck in eternity being a sex slave to some Mormon king on his distant planet?

Have fun...

Edit - Yes, we know you did not call yourself self-righteous, people like that are so stuck on themselves and their small minded beliefs that they rarely recognize being that way. You are being extremely smug and dismissive of other's beliefs - so feel free to catch a clue and move on.

Judge not lest ye be judged - sweetie - your vengeful god doesn't appreciate you usurping his power, so you'd better watch it. You're likely to get a lightening bolt tossed at you.

And, just in case you didn't know...Self-righteous -(adj.) confident of one's righteousness, esp. when smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behaviors of others. (i.e. - YOU!)

Sorry, Hell is not real. It was a story added to the Christian teachings around 500 AD to scare Pagans and other faiths to convert to Christianity. In the Christian bible, there is no reference of "hell" until after Jesus' death and resurrection after coming back to speak to his disciples. Jesus never made a reference to a Hell but only of demons and fallen angels that possessed animals and presented themselves to prophets and kings. The only reference of hell is in the last parts of the Bible that speaks of the End times and the Apocolypse.
It is wonderful being a Pagan and not having a Hell. I feel sorry for you Christians that have to live in fear to make sure you believe in your deity.
I love Fundies.

You right wing know it all christians are really disgusting.. Who says that the bible is a legitimate piece of literature? I believe that we do have a common creator and that if a person leads the kind of life that enriches others and our community and world as a whole and always treat others the way the person would be treated that the person who lives her/his life in this manner will receive the same rewards as any of you holy rollers!!!!!!!!!

If the Christian God exists by the definition you give Him then I would say:
He will understand my choices, He will know why I have chosen a different path. As long as I live my life in a positive moral way He will accept me into his kingdom. But honestly, I can't say I'm really worried about it. Only He can judge me, no one else here can - well they can try if they want to but it's really meaningless and a waste of their time.

Pascal's Wager. My dog could refute it in his sleep (and he's not that bright).
First you are assuming that there is a 50- 50 chance that you are right. That is that there is either no God or your God.. This is of course easily dismissed. What if you are worshipping the wrong God, thus angering the right God?
If you believe that God is omniscient, how can you also believe that He is gullible enough to be fooled by a disingenuous convert?
If I live my life to serve and help my fellow man, why would you believe that God would punish me simply because I did not worship Him? Is this really a deity that is worthy of your worship? Personally, I choose not to worship any deity that threatens me with Hell merely for questioning His existence.
*Cheers*

relies upon on no matter if eternal existence interior the hot earth or in hell. Heaven is in difficulty-free words a temporal position of the souls of those who've died at the same time as their bodies have back to the floor. On resurrection day, body and soul will reunite and both stay interior the hot earth or be thrown with devil interior the lake of hearth. For people interior the hot earth, it is going to likely be no longer achieveable for them to sin.

I'm Christian too but you really need to open your mind. Be more accepting of other religions and beliefs. How do you know there is only one right religion? I mean, I believe in God as the higher power and creator, but don't me so narrow minded, learn and love.

If by some freak accident of nature you ARE right, I'm guessing that by your little hypocritical smug attitude you'll be right there with us but hopefully we can ignore you over the sound of good music and the fantastic company.

Hypothetically speaking to answer your question-

Lets say the Christians are right. They would CONTINUE to follow their iron fisted tyrant and spend an eternity with those who chose to just line up and be slaves, while those of us that found your god's TYRANNY to be distasteful can go worship SATAN- Which is EXACTLY what I would do. I don't support George W. Bush, why should I accept any OTHER brutal dictator?

Not that it matters... the Christian god is a fairy tale.

I'm lovin' it.

You are a poor example of how WE Christians should act.

And there isn't and IF. It is true that there is a non and only true God. Jesus is the savior and no man comes to the Father except through Him.
