Hello Friends! I pray that you are all doing well this morning!
Whoo! What a day! Me being a mother and housewife I have a lot to do. And I drive myself crazy trying to be perfect. I try so hard to be perfect in everything that I do. From my marriage to my parenting, to my friendships, my household chores, I just have a big problem!
Friends, isn't this like a lot of us, or all of us even? We strive to be perfect, but perfection does not come and we end up being disappointed in ourselves. It is normal.
Think about Jesus, wasn't He perfect? Isn't He perfect? Can any of us ever match Him?
Jesus is perfection! He is, so that we would not have to be! God knew that none of us could ever be perfect, so He sent perfect down to us!
How awesome is that!
So friends, I need to take my own advice here. Next time we are trying so hard to be perfect lets think about Jesus and who He was and is, and cut ourselves a break.
Lets pray and thank God for His perfection and His grace.

Even though we know that perfection will never be attained here in the flesh, we are to still strive for it in a Godly manner.

So yes......I do strive for it daily.

But I also fail daily as well

Thank God for His grace.....and for the Lord Jesus Christ....who has wiped away the penalty of sin at the cross!

Edit:
Slow down and take it one step at a time my sister.......God loves you

Amen!
I think I do this at times, but not so much expecting to be perfect in what I do but to just be "better" -- because I have the problem of comparing myself to other housewives and moms. ( not good!)
I pray daily for patience and wisdom from God. I know that it is only THROUGH Him that I can succeed in anything and accomplish anything. The only good in me comes from Him alone! I praise God for His wonderful salvation and for His wonderful promises- which I do not deserve ONE BIT. God knows our weaknesses, oh yes! Jesus has dealt with our temptations and weaknesses, yet without sin! And we have the victory THROUGH Him! Praise God!

1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen!!
Much of our striving to be perfect is fleshly!! Sincere but fleshly!

He who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it! And I will work with Him in the process but I will not put myself in His position! He's The Potter, I am not! I'm the clay! My job is to be pliable and bend to His touch!
God Bless!

I'm so far from being perfect, it's actually funny sometimes. Thank God I can laugh at myself. But thanks for the reminder that, when I'm tempted to aim for perfection, I should not be thinking of myself, I should be thinking of Him.
